5 Car Models of Different Companies to be Discontinued in India- Reviews
"Some cars production will be discontinued in India because of poor sales data."
Car production and sales in India are growing at such a rapid pace that India has become the fourth largest car seller in the world. In this way, with the arrival of new cars, some cars being sold in the market are also closed.
When there is no product according to the customer's choice, such models leave the market forever. When sales of any car decline, its manufacturers, distributors and customers are also affected. In that case, the products that are sold poorly in the market may not survive.
Cars that are not currently sold well in the Indian market are expected to close in 2021. Some models from Datsun, Nissan, Ford, and Hyundai are expected to be discontinued.
1. Datsun Go
Many say the Datsun brand is a mistake in itself. Its sales in India are below 50 units per month. Thus, it seems difficult for the company to continue. Despite being a cheap car, this car is not considered as 'value for money' by Indian consumers.
2. Datsun Go Plus
Sales of the 7-seat Go Plus are very weak. However, the Renault Triber brought by this group is getting a very good market. In this case, the company seems to be able to close this model and focus on another model.
3. Ford Figo
Despite being excellent for running Ford Figo and 'value for money', only 200 to 300 units are sold monthly. Which is much less than the Aspire and Freestyle sold by the company. As Ford continues to invest heavily in the SUV lineup, Figo is likely to discontinue production.
4. Honda Jazz
Honda's jazz hatchback in India is expected to close in 2021. The company has been selling it at an average of 600 units per month. Its sales are much lower than its competitors in the market. In this way, the company will be able to stop production of jazz by focusing its attention on the new Civic and CR-V.
5. Hyundai Elantra
The Hyundai Elantra D segment is considered to be the best car in the sedan. However, looking at its sales, it does not seem that the company will continue it in India. Just as Hyundai has not been able to sell the Sonata, Tucson and Santa Fe in the premium car segment in India, it is also looking to add to the Elantra. In 2020, no unit has been able to sell 50 units of Elantra. In this case, the company seems to be able to close it.
