  • Exterior

Looks come first. So on the bike, all you need to see is its physical condition. Looks are the first thing everyone notices. It shows how the bike has been handled by the owner and how much care the bike has received.

  • Engine

As mentioned before, the engine is the heart of the vehicle. All you need to do is check the sound and take it for a test ride as the engine gets up to full operating temperature and you can make sure all gears engage correctly.

Always make the clutch and the brakes of the bike are operating smoothly and properly. The smoothness of the clutch also indicates how the bike has been used by the owner.

Check the disc plates to know if the owner has timely replaced the brake pads. If the disc pads are worn out and still used, it will cause deep scratches on the surface of the metal disc. It can be problematic while braking as well.

Also, check the suspension. There should not be any grinding noises and there should not be any oil leaks.

  • Tire:

Always make sure to check the tires before buying a second-hand bike. The tire has not been used for more than five years. A proper inspection of tires should be done.

  • Fuel Efficiency:

Before buying a second-hand bike, you should always check how much distance the bike has covered to date. This will help you find out the proper condition of the bike.

  • Mechanical Inspection:

After your personal inspection, it is always better to show the bike to the professional before purchasing it. Even after the detailed inspection and test ride, mechanic inspection will make sure if there is something the buyer should worry about.

Since the mechanics are professionals, they are more aware of the vehicles and can determine if the vehicle has any underlying issues or areas that might become an issue in the future.

  • Documents:

The documents related to the vehicle should not be neglected at any cost by the buyer. It is one of the most important things that will give you different information like about previous owner, vehicle sold record, and also vehicle’s tax payment record.

Finding the best bike with a moderate price to ride for daily use is actually really difficult. So, here’s the list of some bikes under 5 lakhs in Nepal based on their cost, displacement, mileage with specifications:

Hero Xpulse 200

The Hero XPulse 200 is powered by a 4-stroke two-valve single-cylinder engine which generates a power of 18.4PS at 8000rpm and a peak torque of 17.1Nm torque at 6500rpm.

The two-wheeler has also been integrated with a CV carburetor fuel system. The bike’s engine has been mated with six-speed gearbox transmission.

The fuel system on the motorcycle is CV Carburetor and has a 13 litres fuel capacity. The bike features a single-channel ABS, LCD instrument panel, and full LED headlights.

The price of Hero Xpulse 200 is Rs 4, 02,000.

Yamaha MT-15

Yamaha MT-15 is powered by a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve SOHC engine, the bike provides a maximum power of 19.3 PS at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.7 Nm at 8500 rpm.

Yamaha MT 15 has a Fuel Injection (FI) system and provides safety with the single-channel ABS.

It is mated to a 6-speed Manual Transmission and allows tripping at low RPM even at high gears. Moreover, the bike has unique LED headlights, a muscular tank, and a digital instrument cluster.

The price of the Yamaha MT-15 is Rs 4,42,900.

Yamaha FZ 25

Yamaha FZ 25 has an Air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, Fuel Injection engine that powers the Yamaha FZ 25 and produces a maximum power of 20.9PS at 8000rpm and peak power of 20 Nm at 6000 rpm.

The 249 cc displacement engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. The engine is liquid-cooled, and the bike has a fuel tank of 14 litres capacity.

Some features of the motorcycles include Disc Brakes, LED headlight and Taillights, Stare-back headlamp, and a powerful engine.

The Price of the Yamaha FZ 25 is Rs 4,62,900.

Suzuki Gixxer 250

Suzuki Gixxer 250 is powered by a single-cylinder, oil-cooled Fi engine. It has a displacement of 249 ccs and generates a maximum power of 26.5 PS at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.6 Nm at 7500 rpm.

Moreover, Suzuki Gixxer 250’s engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres and provides a mileage of 35-40 km per litre.

Some bike features include LED headlamp and taillights, sporty design, all-digital instrument cluster, brushed-finish alloy wheels.

The price of Suzuki Gixxer 250 is Rs 4,65,900.

Bajaj Dominar 250

Bajaj Dominar 250 is powered by a 248.77cc, Single-Cylinder, Liquid-Cooled, 4-Valve, DOHC Engine. It can generate a max-power of 27PS at 8500rpm and a max torque of 23.5Nm at 6500rpm.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 also features a slipper clutch as standard. Moreover, it is mated to a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch.

Instead of triple-spark ignition, Dominar 250 will feature a traditional twin-spark configuration.

The price of Bajaj Dominar 250 is Rs 5,18,900.
