The F-150 Lightning is the name of Ford's upcoming electric pickup truck. The new electric vehicle will be unveiled on May 19th at an event held at the automaker's headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. It will also be broadcast online.

For more than 40 years, the Ford F-150 has been the most famous truck (and vehicle) in the United States, so its impending electrification is important. As a result, Ford is treating the unveiling as a big event, with hundreds of ways to watch it on various channels. Prior to today's announcement, the Lightning name had been leaked, and as Car & Driver pointed out, it's a name that Ford has used on its SVT F-150 street trucks since the early 1990s.
