According to the Prime Minister’s IT Advisor, Asgar Ali, 90 new features are to be added to Nagarik App,making almost all government payments possible.

During a digital conversation event Asgar Ali mentioned that the feature updates shall be done in three stages. He also informed about other features such as paying drinking water bills and quarterly and annual taxes will soon be available.

The government decided to introduce this app to provide more hassle free services to the general public while making various payments to the government. The app eliminates the tedious task of physically traveling spending many hours on a simple task plus avoids human errors.

The recent update on the Nagarik app lets you make the payment of your vehicle revenues and renewals from the online app itself.

To regulate this online transaction the transport offices under the Department of Transport Management will also be equipped with supporting systems.

The systems put in the transport offices will be directly connected to the Nagarik app.

Additional to the government tax payments and renewals, payments for the obligatory third-party insurance can also be done through the online transaction system with the app.

The process of transferring travel offices’ services to an online process has reached its final stage and the service will be available in just a matter of days, according to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Nepal Rastra Bank approved payment system for service providers is also on the work to be connected to the app.

The purpose of this app is for the public to avoid the hassles they have had to face.

Nagarik app eliminates the tedious task of physically traveling spending many hours on a simple task and it also avoids human errors as well.

It also makes it easier to avoid the charges for late payments.

The Nagarik App which was introduced in an attempt to make paperwork obsolete has been added with a new feature to acknowledge public complaints.

Any users who are unable to locate their citizenship or find any mistakes in the details on the citizenship in the app will be able to report the issues to the system administrator.

Other services that are included in the app are PAN registration, local government information, viewing details of submitted taxes, services related to Citizen Investment Trust, Police clearance report, malpot, health insurance board, saving funds, educational details, and starting a bank account online.
