"On the front of the device lies an all new display named Horizon display, which is a curved display and according to Yu is curved at 88 degrees."

Huawei Product Launch Event Autumn 2019 started with Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, welcoming all the press and audience member in the event. After the short presentation of achievements by Huawei in their toughest year ever, Yu unveiled the Mate 30 series to the audience present in the venue and worldwide watching via Youtube. Before diving into the nitty-gritty of the unveiled devices, lets clear the achievemnets by Huawei for 2019 out of the way.

According to Richard Yu, PC, SmartAudio and Wearables saw an increase of more than 200% over the last year with only 26% inclease in sales of smartphones but a whopping 40% increase in revenue. Mate20 series which was unveild last year sold 16 Million+ Shipments in 10 months and P30 Series unveiled 6 months ago sold 17 Million+ Shipments in that period of just 6 months after the reselase. Yu also talked about their previous achievements of Huawei Mate 10 being the first phone to integrate AI inside and Huawei Mate X being the first Fastest foldable phone.

With all that out of the way, lets jump right into the main attraction of the Event the Mate 30 Series. Yu unveiled the devices – Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro to the audiences and started showcasing all the details of the phones, starting with the design of the phones. Huawei started the trend of square camera cutout with the Mate 20 which all other big manufacturers are coping right now but this year Huawei is changing its design yet again to a circular camera cutout inspired from the professional Camera lenses of Leica which Huawei has named the Halo Ring Design.

Not only the camera cutout, the design of the phones are also inspired by the Leica cameras. The phones have no sharp corners for the ease of handling the phone and the back of the phone features a Gorilla Glass 6.

On the front of the device lies an all new display named Horizon display, which is a curved display and according to Yu is curved at 88 degrees which is more than Note 10 Pro. As there are two variants, Pro and the non Pro version, Specifications can get little confusing if I start writing every thing in a paragraph, so for ease, key specs of the devices are listed in the table form below.

Along side these two phones, Proche Edition of the Mate 30 Pro was also unveiled which has all the similar specs only difference being it is designed by Prosche Design, comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage and body is wrapped with genuine leather.

Finally the pricing of the devices, Huawei Mate 30 8GB + 128GB is priced at €799, Mate 30 Pro 8GB + 256GB is priced at €1099, Mate 30 Pro 5G variant with 8GB + 256GB is priced at €1199 and Mate 30 Pro RS is priced at €2095 which is equivalent to NPR. 99929, 137449, 149955 and 262015 respectively.
