Facebook's short music video maker, Collab music app launched

15th December 2020
"Collab Music app is available only on iOS."

Collab, an experimental music-making app is publicly launched by Facebook. According to TechCrunch back in May, it had first launched as an invite-only beta back.

Users can create short-form music videos by combining up to three independent videos with the help of this app. Three musicians could each play a different part of a song and combine them into one. All the video that is created in the app gets posted to a public "Collab" feed, where people can view and play along.

According to Facebook, every user is properly credited for their contributions. One can mix other people's videos together or can mix their own. One needn't worry about lining the videos up, as Collab has inbuilt app tools that sync the parts together.

Its App store page writes, “We make sure that as you swipe, the videos play at exactly the right moment to be in sync.”

One can install the app directly from AppStoreThe app isn’t directly related to Facebook (yet), but you can export the finished products to your Instagram story (as well as other platforms, including TikTok).
