Xiaomi to follow tech giants pushing for electric/smart vehicles

26th March 2021
"It was reported by Reuters earlier today that Xiaomi Corp plans to manufacture EVs using Great Wall Motor’s factory.  "

China’s Xiaomi Corp plans to make electric vehicles (EVs) using Great Wall Motor Co Ltd’s factory, making them the latest tech firm to join the smart mobility business.

It was reported by Reuters earlier today that Xiaomi Corp plans to manufacture EVs using Great Wall Motor’s factory.

After the news of Apple is developing its own electric vehicle, Xiaomi has also reportedly started to look into extending their field towards battery-powered automobiles.

Shares of Xiaomi and Great Wall Motors has surged after the news broke out.

This is not the first time Xiaomi has dabbled in the automotive world.

They had teamed up with Lamborghini for a supercar-inspired GoKart called Ninebot GoKart Pro.

They had also showcased Redmi Bestune T77, an SUV with 143 hp of bragging power.

Modern cars, especially EVs, are becoming more technologically advanced than ever before.

A long list of gadgets, screens, and features are widely seen as ways to attract potential buyers.
