Car detailing tips and tricks

Learning how to detail your car to a professional standard isn’t just a matter of vanity, it’s a smart way to maintain your car’s value, and make sure you get the best possible price when it comes to selling it.

So here is some of the car detailing tips and tricks that might be helpful for you:

Tire and wheel cleaning

Before washing your car you should clean the wheels and tires. Because they are likely to be the dirtiest part of your car.

Start with a simple all-purpose or rubber cleaner on the tires.

Make sure it’s meant for wheels as you don’t want to use a harsh cleaner that will ruin the finish of your wheels.

Scrub the tires down after letting the product soak in and rinse. As far as wheels are concerned many products will remove iron and brake dust deposits safely.

Sanitize Seat Belts

You might not give your seat belt much thought, at least not until you drip ketchup or split some drinks on it.

But these necessary restraints get grimy fast and could hide a bunch of bacteria.

To clean seat belts, extend them as far as possible, and then clip them in place. Scrub with an all-purpose cleaner, using a small brush.

Toothbrushes are great for tackling small stains. Lastly, wipe with a microfiber cloth and leave the seat belts extended until completely dry.

Deep Clean Your Seats

Whether you have a family car filled with muddy footprints and food wrappers or use your car for the work commute, it's wise to regularly deep clean your car's seats.

By deep cleaning the car seats, leather, or cloth, you will reduce unwanted odors and give your car a fresh clean feel.

There's nothing worse than a buildup of mold and stains on your seat covers, they take a lot more hard work to get rid of if you leave them a long time.

If you prevent them or maintain the interior of your car more frequently there is a higher chance of stains not sticking around.

Use a Towel to Dry the Paintwork

If you let your car air dry after you’ve cleaned it, watermarks will develop on the surface — and these are often more difficult to remove than dirt and road dust.

To dry your car effectively, use a soft microfiber towel or chamois to carefully remove any water droplets from the paintwork.

Using a long, figure of 8 actions, start at the top of the car and work down each panel to remove excess water and leave the paintwork looking clean and clear.

Dry glass surfaces in two directions

When cleaning and drying your car’s windows, you’ll almost certainly come across an annoying streak on either the outside or the inside of the glass.

Get in the habit of drying the exterior glass in one direction and the interior in another (horizontal and vertical for instance).

By making the effort to dry the glass this way, you’ll know whether the streak is on the outside or inside of the car by the direction it’s facing — so you can deal with the problem quickly without causing any more streaks and blemishes.

Safety precaution for driving a car while pregnant

7th January 2022
"Car safety is important whether you are pregnant or not. But pregnant women choose to drive for many different reasons."

Car safety is important whether you are pregnant or not. But pregnant women choose to drive for many different reasons. These include convenience and security to comfort and freedom. However, driving is always risky and especially so for a pregnant woman.

Here are some safety precautions and tips for driving a car while pregnant:

Prepare for breakdowns and emergencies

You should always be prepared on the road, but especially so during pregnancy.

It’s a good idea to purchase an emergency and first aid kit for the car and to have things such as a rechargeable battery charger (to ensure you can call help), flashlight, a blanket for staying warm during a breakdown, and some snacks and water to ensure you don’t start feeling too out of energy if you need to wait for repairs.

Plan frequent breaks

When you’re pregnant, your body will behave differently and you need to adjust to these changes, especially when driving.

If you’ll be in the car for several hours, stop, stretch and walk a bit. You’ll get the blood moving, feel more alert and reduce the potential for swelling.

It’s important to ensure you prepare for these and leave more room for breaks than you might normally. Add at least ten to 15 minutes to your shorter journeys, more time for long road trips.

Position yourself far back from the steering wheel and/or airbag

When you have to be the driver, move your seat as far back as is comfortable.

Try to position yourself so that your breastbone is at least 10 inches from the steering wheel.

You can use after-market pedal extenders to put yourself in a position further away from the steering wheel.

It’s just three inches, but that’s a lot of distance in an accident. Make sure to adjust your mirrors for your new seating position too.

Gauge how you feel

The increase in accidents for pregnant women is likely due to fatigue, nausea, lack of focus, etc.

So before you leave, check-in with how you feel. And if you feel any of those things, ask someone else to drive or postpone your trip until you are feeling better.

Eat a snack, drink some water, take a rest and see how you feel after that.

Remove extra layers

Coats and jackets could interfere with the placement of the seat belt. Plus it could make you uncomfortable and distracted if you get too warm.

Coats also can restrict your ability to move freely behind the wheel. So it’s better your remove the extra layers of your clothes while driving.

Important Parts of Motorcycle to be Taken Care

10th January 2022
"Every motorcycle owner should be aware of their bike's parts."

Every motorcycle owner should be aware of their bike's parts.

Motorcycle parts knowledge includes understanding the operations of the components, selecting the appropriate parts based on the bike type and riding patterns and maintaining the parts.

Here are a few important parts of the motorcycle that rider should take care of:

Clutch Plate

A clutch is one of the most crucial elements of a motorbike since it is used frequently when riding.

Moreover, when riding in congested areas, the clutch is used extensively. In this circumstance, there is a good chance that the clutch plate will fail shortly.

And the clutch plate is one of the most expensive pieces of a motorbike, and not operating it properly may result in additional expenses.

As a result, a rider should avoid using the clutch at unexpected moments.

Chain Sprocket

The second most frequently utilized element of a motorbike is the sprocket, which makes it more likely it failing quickly.

As a result, the chain sprocket of a motorbike should be well-maintained. Cleaning and lubricating the chain sprocket on a regular basis reduces the probability of failure while also increasing its durability.

Disc pad

Because brakes are utilized more frequently while riding a bike, riders should be aware of the need of inspecting the quality of their motorcycle's disc pad.

The disc pad should be examined on a regular basis for security reasons.

The cost of a disc pad varies depending on the company. Riding a motorbike on a sandy, muddy road like ours increases the chances of dust gathering on the brakes, which can further harm the disc's rim if not properly cared for.

Battery

Batteries do not need to be checked as frequently as other parts, merely once a month, but they are frequently overlooked owing to their inconvenient location.

The fluid level in each chamber of the battery should be monitored and, if necessary, replaced. Water that has been distilled or deionized should be utilized.

Moreover, tap water is polluted with minerals that might damage the battery and cause it to fail.
