Interview with Ummeed Shrestha, Director of Kuzu Nepal Pvt. Ltd.
"The announcement of the second phase of the lockdown with stricter rules and safety protocols to follow was not expected so soon."
The market was still in recovery mode when the first phase of lockdown ended due to pandemic but the rising number of cases gave no option to the government but to implement the second phase of lockdown. This caused great losses to small, medium and even large scale industries.
We have Ummeed Shrestha, Director of Kuzu Nepal Pvt. Ltd. Authorized Distributor for DFSK cars in Nepal to talk about the company's future plans.
How do you see your business in this second phase of the lock-down situation in your sector in Nepal
After the ease of lockdown inside Kathmandu, we did make a few sales with all the safety protocols following the guidelines, still, our expectations were not as expected as I feel it was the same with all other businesses. The announcement of the second phase of the lockdown with stricter rules and safety protocols to follow was not expected so soon.
Our business and as any other business was not functioning so well after the ease of the first phase of the lockdown, the second locked down was directly going to hit on our overhead cost and further creating a loss to businesses.
There is the limitation for everything, once that’s crossed it will be very difficult for us to handle the situation which can lead to a reduction of overhead cost in the organization. I feel the concerned bodies should be able to strategize for a better favorable working scenario during these tough times.
How are you planning to run the business during the lock-down and what are the safety protocols?
As of now almost everything is in a lockdown stage and we are not allowed to open our business but for now, we are doing online marketing, making contact with our customers on a regular basis. Once the situation gets controlled and we are allowed to reopen our business, we will follow proper safety protocols as per the guidelines which we have been doing. Safety will be our top most priorities.
Are there any latest offers/schemes in the purchase that you would be offering?
Yes, we are soon coming up with a scheme and the scheme’s promotion starts once our business re-opens. This scheme will definitely attract and allow customers to make a purchase decision.
