"More than 500,000 customers have switched to the EV, helping electrify the world."
Nissan today celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Nissan LEAF electric car and the delivery of 500,000 LEAF vehicles since the model was first introduced.
“In marking these milestones, we firstly want to express our appreciation to all the customers who have come on this electrifying journey with us,” said Nissan President and CEO Makoto Uchida. “By switching to electric mobility, customers around the world have brought us all closer to a more sustainable and resilient society.”
Produced at plants in Japan, the U.S., and the U.K., the zero-emission Nissan LEAF is sold in 59 markets around the world. As its battery capacity, performance and efficiency have continued to improve, the LEAF has evolved from a city commuter to a versatile car that meets a wide range of customer needs and lifestyles.
Beyond mobility, the Nissan LEAF has contributed to society by helping power homes and businesses and providing emergency electricity during natural disasters. Alongside Nissan’s other electrified powertrain vehicles, the LEAF continues to show the way to a sustainable, resilient, zero-emission society.
From the pioneering first version in 2010 to the LEAF e+ introduced in 2019, the 500,000 customers who have chosen the LEAF have helped drivers around the world realize the benefits of electric vehicles, both in terms of sustainability and in their daily lives.
In July this year, Nissan unveiled the Nissan Ariya all-electric crossover. The Ariya embodies Nissan’s strengths in electric vehicle development and features the latest in Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies and design.

"The Nissan Magnite comes into a crowded segment which has some really strong contenders."
The Nissan Magnite comes into a crowded segment that has some really strong contenders. As first impressions go the car comes across as a feature-rich, practical package.
The Magnite subcompact SUV has made its global launch in India and it enters a segment that has seen positive growth even in these trying times. The last few months have seen 2 new cars being added to an already long list in the segment and the Nissan Magnite which has just been unveiled globally will be the third new model to be added to that list and yes India will be the first market to get the car. The Nissan Magnite is powered by an all-new, 1.0-liter turbocharged engine that is one of the most powerful in the class.
Nissan Magnite production version has been finally unveiled after months of teaser images and specs being released by the Japanese carmaker which is betting big and hoping to storm the extremely competitive sub-compact SUV segment. Magnite indeed carries the weight of a whole lot of expectations for Nissan and will seek to challenge established players like Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza as well as relatively new challengers like Kia Sonet.
Magnite's face is flanked by extremely sleek LED bi-projector headlights, LED streak turn indicators, LED L-shaped DRLs, and LED fog lamps. While the blackened front grille bears a slight resemblance to the Dastun cars, the bonnet is sculpted with character lines and there is a silver skid plate to complete a sporty front visual profile.
From the side, Magnite's design benefits from square wheel arches and a ground clearance of 204 mm. The vehicle gets 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels while the functional roof rails mean that the owner would actually be able to use these to store and transport luggage or even cycles.
The windows are sufficiently large - the roof tapering slightly towards the C-pillar - while the doors close with a reassuring thud courtesy extra seals to ensure a check on NVH levels. There is also a very visible silver body cladding on the sides which begin from the front wheel arch and stop just short of the wheel arch at the rear.
The rear profile of Magnite manages to keep things simple while still attempting to grab eyeballs. This is because of the small but sleek LED tail lights and the 'Magnite' badge just under the rear wiper. The silver skid plate makes a comeback here and there is a brake light mounted on the rear spoiler as well.
There are 336 liters of cargo space - the rear seats can be folded in 60:40 split - which is sufficient for a vehicle in this segment although it appears that the lifting angle could be a little too high, especially for heavy luggage.
An eight-inch infotainment screen almost instantly catches attention and offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This also puts out a rear parking feed as well as a side camera feed which may be helpful during parallel parking.
There are six speakers inside the Magnite while Nissan is promising an optional Tech pack at launch which would replace these with premium speakers. The same pack would also ensure the wireless phone charging system inside the Magnite, among other features like air purifier, puddle lamps, and ambient mood lighting.
Since the doors open wide, getting in and out of Magnite may not be much trouble and the drive and ride position appears to be sufficiently high.
Nissan has also equipped Magnite with a Drive-Eco function which rates the driving by assigning scores while also suggesting ways to improve drive efficiency.
Nissan is also promising an engaging drive experience with a Turbo HTA0 engine option while buyers may also choose the company's much-acclaimed X-Tronic CVT transmission option. Magnite also claims to have the best-in-class turning radius of 5.0m.
The carmaker says Magnite will come with a host of safety features which include dual airbags, Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) for safer manoeuvering in tight spaces, Hill Start Assist (HAS), Traction Control, Anti-Roll bar, and ABS with EBD.
At launch, Magnite will be offered in multiple color options but Nissan is primarily highlighting the four-coat flare garnet red color which assumes slightly different shades when reflecting different lights at varying levels.

"Building on Nissan pickup heritage, the new model is the most advanced Navara ever."
Nissan today unveiled the new Nissan Navara pickup, which delivers an enhanced level of safety, comfort, and driving pleasure while continuing to bring durability, reliability, and versatility.

A reliable partner for work or travel, the new Nissan Navara comes with many best-in-class technologies, including an array of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features and safety systems, making it the most advanced Navara yet.
Among the Nissan Intelligent, Mobility features that will be available across the global Navara and Frontier lineup is Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, which monitors the second vehicle ahead as well as the vehicle directly in front to reduce the risk of multi-car accidents. Intelligent Emergency Braking activates the brakes to avoid collisions, reducing the stress of driving in traffic or on busy streets.
Intelligent Around View Monitor uses four cameras to help drivers notice people and cars surrounding and approaching the vehicle, making it easier to parallel park or to position the vehicle when hitching to a trailer. New to the system is an off-road monitor, which checks surrounding obstacles at low speeds when in four-wheel-drive mode.

A new steering rack has been adopted to enhance the maneuverability at low speeds and steering response across the speed range.
It offers a quiet and comfortable ride thanks to a significant decrease in vibration and improved noise isolation.
For the first time for the Navara and Frontier, Nissan will offer the PRO-4X grade, a style package aimed at adventure lovers and travelers craving an escape from their daily routine. The PRO-4X grade comes with its own athletic look, with a black emblem, orange-accented front bumper, black grille, door handles, roof racks, and running boards accented by 17-inch black wheels and all-terrain tires.

Nissan launches new Note hatchback with hybrid technology
23rd November 2020
"In Japan, the Note, which uses a platform designed with French alliance partner Renault SA, will compete With Toyota's Yaris and Honda's Fit."
Nissan today launched the all-new Note compact car in Japan. The new Note will come exclusively with Nissan’s e-POWER electrified powertrain. As the company’s best-selling model in its home market, the car continues to play a key role in the Nissan NEXT global business transformation plan.
“In 2016, the Note e-POWER became a hot seller as soon as it started sales in Japan,” said Ashwani Gupta, Nissan’s chief operating officer. “With this all-new Note, we want to bring the joy of e-POWER to even more customers. Once you experience e-POWER, you will instantly discover why it has been well received by customers. It offers linear and exhilarating acceleration that is unique to 100% electric motor drive but without the restraint of battery charge. This is the power of e-POWER.”
The all-new Note showcases Nissan’s latest design concept, Timeless Japanese Futurism. The simple, yet powerfully modern and distinctive Japanese approach sets the Note apart from other compact cars.
Nissan’s signature V-motion grille crowns the exterior, forming a strong V-line under the slim-line headlamps. Character lines extend from the front, carving the side profile and transitioning through the slim, horizontally continuous rear combination lamps. The overall impression is one of advanced, simple, and dynamic design for the electrified age.
The front grille pattern draws from traditional Japanese design, conveying an artisan touch. Bookending the grille are sleek headlights featuring four in-line LED projector lights1, keeping the front sharp and sporty.
Sixteen-inch aluminum wheels, with an inner design reminiscent of a sword blade, complete the all-new Note’s agile look.
The model comes with 13 available body-color variations, including two two-tone options and an eye-catching Vivid Blue. Also available is the new color Opera Mauve, specially created for the Note.
Earlier this year, Nissan launched the Kicks e-POWER in Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia. The company is also planning e-POWER launches in Europe and China. So far, customers have purchased about 430,000 vehicles equipped with innovative powertrain.
The Note's first full model change in eight years is part of a plan by the carmaker to revamp an aging vehicle line up and return to profitability as it pulls back from the expansion pursued by former Chairman Carlos Ghosn to focus on sales in Japan, China, and the United States.
At the same time, it has promised to launch a slew of vehicles in Japan, China, and the United States, including new electric vehicles to lure increasingly environment-conscious drivers.
