2021 Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter launched in India

Yamaha Motor India has launched the 2021 Yamaha Aerox 155. The Aerox 155 comes based on the company's YZF-R15 sports bike and features the same engine and platform, making it one of the most capable scooters in its segment and above. 

The Aerox 155 uses a differently tuned version of the 155cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine.

The engine produces 15PS of maximum power and 13.9Nm of peak torque in the maxi sports scooter and is mated to a CVT (continuously variable transmission). There is a smart motor-generator system for quiet engine starts, and a stop and start system to save fuel.

The Aerox 155 uses 26mm telescopic forks at the front and dual pitch springs at the rear. It gets 14-inch wheels with tubeless tyres (110mm front and 140mm rear). There is a 230mm disc brake at the front with single-channel ABS. The maxi sports scooter has a 145mm ground clearance. The fuel tank can hold 5.5 litres of petrol.

The Aerox 155 looks rather broad at the front and has an aerodynamic design, just like the 2021 R15 V4 and the R15M. The maxi sports scooter has LED headlights and LED taillight with 12 compact LEDs. There is a 5.8-inch LCD instrument panel with multiple functionalities.

The Aerox 155 comes with a Bluetooth-enabled Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X application. A charging socket is located in the front compartment. It has a generous 24.5-litre under-seat storage.

The Aerox 155 gets a couple of colour options — Racing Blue and Grey Vermillion. It will also be offered in the special Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition.

The price of the scooter starting at INR 129,000. The Aerox 155 rivals the Aprilia SR160.

"2021 Yamaha YZF-R15 V4.0 has received a fully revamped styling that takes inspiration from the newly Yamaha YZF-R7."

Yamaha Motor India on Tuesday(21 Sept 2021) announced the launch of the new YZF-R15 V4. The new bike has received a host of updated features including a Traction Control System (TCS) as well as a Quick Shifter, these features are generally found only on the higher, and much premium set of superbikes.

The new YZF-R15 V4 bike includes its Upside Down Front Fork, Bluetooth connectivity Yamaha Motorcycle Connect and a new LCD instrument cluster inspired by YZF-R1 with Gear shift indicator, and Track & Street Mode.

The sports bike is powered with a 155cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine that produces a maximum power of 18.4 PS at 10,000rpm, and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm.

The new bike includes its Upside Down Front Fork, Bluetooth connectivity Yamaha Motorcycle Connect and a new LCD instrument cluster inspired by YZF-R1 with Gear shift indicator, and Track & Street Mode. The fuel-injected motor with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The bike has been priced from INR 1.68 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

2021 Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid scooter launched in India

"The RayZR 125 scooter has been introduced in three trims - Standard Rear Drum, Standard Disc, and Street Rally."

The new RayZR 125 was officially revealed earlier this year. The scooter has been introduced in three trims - Standard Rear Drum, Standard Disc, and Street Rally.

All three variants of the new Yamaha scooter sits the same air-cooled, fuel-injected (Fi), 125 cc blue core engine that produces 8.2 PS of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

The scooter gets a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system with the added functionality of a Hybrid System. 

As per Yamaha, its Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system provides power assist when the scooter accelerates from a stop. After about three seconds from the start, the assisted power by this feature stops.

The meter console also displays an alert indication when the Power Assist (Hybrid System) is working.

The Standard rear drum is the base model starting at INR 76,830 (ex-showroom), Delhi.
