Budget does not make much change for automobile sector

The recent budget announcement for the fiscal year 2019/20 does not affect two-wheelers much. All taxes and duties remain the same as per the previous budget.  The only change that has been made is to include 155 cc bikes in the 40 percent excise duty bracket. In the earlier budget, the excise duty for bikes from 50 to 150 cc was forty percent and bikes over 150 cc were fifty percent. Now bikes up to 155 cc will also fall in the 40 percent bracket.

The budget has largely made no changes to the automobile sector for both cars and bikes except for this concession. All other duties and taxes remain the same as last year.
