Foldable is Future
"Mate X, tablet-phone hybrid with virtually three displays. However, pricing is a very critical factor that Huawei has to consider before the final Launch."
2019 trend in the world of smartphones is foldable phones. With virtually Three displays, bombardment of aspect ratios and display size is in order. Huawei Mate X is a tablet-phone hybrid with 8-inch main display. The single flexible 8-inch OLED display which Huawei calls “Full View Display” provides the experience of a tablet when open and acts like a phone with dual-screen when closed. Mate X has the aspect ratio of 8:7.1 with the display resolution of 2,480 x 2,200 and PPI count of 414.
In phone mode, front display is the size of 6.6-inch with the familiar aspect ratio of 19.5:9 which covers the whole body and provide the bezel-free experience.
The rear display has a smaller display size in comparison to the front panel with the aspect ratio of 25:9 and display size of 6.38-inch. Reason for the different aspect ratios between front and rear panel of Mate X is that there is an inclusion of thick hand grip on the right side of the tablet.
