Galaxy Fold Announced

Even though Galaxy Fold belongs to the same category of tablet-phone hybrid as Mate X, in reality, is a totally different beast than its competitor. Galaxy Fold opens like a book where 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex display lives. When closed, it acts like a phone thanks to it’s 4.6-inch HD + Super AMOLED external display. Galaxy Fold has metal chassis around the edges and a foldable seam in the middle. Samsung say hinge is engineered to handle thousands of fold and unfolds without damaging the display.

The internal 7.3-inch screen features three-app multi-tasking. Each screen can work on its on, but also can work together to give seamless experience. User can switch displays as preferred.

Specification

Galaxy Fold has a 64-bit 7nm processor with eight cores and 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Only the time will tell if Samsung will use their in house Exynos processor or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. Galaxy fold is also using Flash 3.0 which is much faster memory than previous version memory. It also has two batteries totaling 4380 mAh, one on each side of the fold. Also stereo speakers of the fold are tuned by AKG.

Galaxy Fold features Six camera in total: Three on the back, one on the front and two on the Inside. Finger print sensor is placed on the side of the edge for easy access. Cameras on the back of the device are similar to the Galaxy S10 Series(12MP wide-angle camera + 12MP telephoto camera + 16MP ultra-wide camera). Dual front camera which lives inside of the fold are cameras taken from the Galaxy S10 plus. there’s a 10MP selfie camera and 8MP depth sensing camera. Lastly external display has 10MP selfie camera. Galaxy Fold is set to be released in Four color variant: Cosmo Black, Space Silver,Martian Green and Astro Blue. Galaxy Fold will be available from April 26 in 4G LTE and 5G versions.
