Huawei looses ARM and Aptoide in negotiation

Huawei has been facing a strange situation from past couple of days. Ban on Huawei devices by the U.S. Government has caused many American companies like Google and Qualcomm to cut ties and partnerships with them. Due to this, Huawei’s Android License has been revoked as well as their devices has been pulled back from Android Q Beta program. With ARM ceasing ties with Huawei aswell whose technology is used in the manufacturing of Huawei’s Kirin processor, it is sure to cost ARM and legs to the company.

Although ban has been delayed for 90 days, Huawei is in look out for the alternative solutions. Hawei has reportedly asked App developers to submit their applications to the App Gallery. App Gallery is the app store owned by Huawei and comes pre-installed in Huawei and Honor phones.

A Portuguese media outlet reported, an open source alternative to Google Playstore named Aptoide is in negotiation with Huawei. Huawei is also asking Europian telecoms to offer the App Gallery on Huawei and Honor phones out of the box to help remedy the situation.
