Samsung announced their new 108MP camera sensor

Samsung recently announced their latest and greatest camera sensor they have ever produced. The largest camera sensor used today in the smartphones is a 64MP sensors but Samsung recently unveiled their 108MP sensor named Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX.
The new sensor has 0.8 micron pixels, the same size as current 48MP and 64MP cameras and uses pixel-binning to deliver shots that are comparable to a 27MP 1.6 micron pixel camera where 48MP and 64MP sensors use pixel-binning to deliver pictures that are comparable to a 12MP and 16MP 1.6 micron pixel camera respectively.
Samsung also claims that the sensor uses Smart ISO technology enabling it to shoot t 6K video (6,016 x 3,384) at 30fps and mass production starts later this month. It is also possible that we could see a phone housing this sensor before the end of the year.
