Snapdragon 765 and 765G Qualcomm's 5G integrated chipset with Specs
"The Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G offer integrated 5G connectivity at a more affordable price point."
Qualcomm alongside Snapdragon 865 launched two other processor the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 and 765G. These two processors are the upper mid-tier portfolio for the 2020.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 765G offer integrated 5G connectivity at a more affordable price point, along with a whole range of other features and improvements.
Both the chipset will replace the Snapdragon 730 and 730G as more affordable, high-performance chipsets for the super mid-tier market. We saw phones with these chipset in sub-$500 price range but the latest Snapdragon 730 and 730G features integrated 5G and Ai capabilities which might cause slight increase in the pricing of the phone. But good thing about these chipset, even though slight increase in price is the much wider access to the technologies under $1000.
Snapdragon 765
The Snapdragon 765 processor offers a 20% boost to performance than its predecessor thanks to the use of improved Kryo 475 CPU with speeds up to 2.4GHz and much improved Adreno 620 GPU. This chipset uses a 1+1+6 Prime, Performance, and Efficiency CPU design resulting in a better balance of peak performance and all-day battery life.
The large Prime core is based on the Cortex-A76 and hits 2.4GHz which is flanked by another smaller Cortex-A76 at 2.2GHz. Besides sits six smaller Cortex-A55 based efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Snapdragon 765 supports up to 12GB 2133MHz LPDDR4 RAM, displays up to a QHD+ resolution, 192MP camera snapshots, and 4K video capture. Snapdragon 765 also comes with integrated 5G.
This chipset uses Qualcomm's second-generation Snapdragon X52 5G modem. With peak download speeds of 3.6Gbps, dynamic spectrum sharing support, SA and NSA, and sub-6GHz and mmWave bands for global markets which the company claims to be the industry's most powerful integrated 5G modem
Chipset also burrows some features from the Qualcomm's 800 series processor which are HDR10+ support, Computer Vision-ISP for enhanced imaging performance with a 4x power saving meaning imaging features like HDR, Night Mode, bokeh blur should run faster and produce higher quality results than before. The chipset also features Hexagon 696 DSP with a dedicated Tensor Accelerator.
Snapdragon 765G
This chipset is for the Gamers out there. Comparing to the regular Snapdragon 765, this chipset promises a further 20% boost to graphics performance. This chipset can handle slightly higher GPU clocks and a CPU peak speed boost of upto 2.4GHz.
Not only that, this chipset comes with features like 120Hz display refresh rates at FHD+ resolutions, 10-bit HDR gaming and smoother frame rates.
Except that, Both the chipset sports the same core features, complete with next-gen 5G and AI capabilities.
Qualcomm expects the phone featuring these chipset to cost under $500 which is way less than the phones which have 5G right now and is expected to be commercially available in the first quarter of 2020.
