TikTok surpasses 1.5 Billion downloads

TikTok came into the social media world and took everyone by storm. By everyone I mean 1.5 Billion. According to a report by SensorTower analytics, TikTok successfully surpassed 1.5 billion downloads mark and is claiming the third spot in the most downloaded non-gaming category for 2019.

TikTok has managed to break the record of Facebook, taking the third position on both App Store and Google Play Store traling behind WhatsApp and Messenger. Three year old app, just in Q3 of 2019 gained 176.5 million downloads across Android and iOS not counting third-party app stores.

 

 

TikTok broke the 1 Billion mark in February of 2019 and just after 7 months was able to gain 500 million more. 466.8 million activation alone on both iOS and Android is from India making them the country with highest users, followed by China with 173.2 million downloads followed by US with around 123.8 million.

 

 

In-app spending is also on the rise which topped $115.3 million during 2019. Chinese users accounted for 50% of the total spending estimated at $84.5 million, followed by the US with $62.4 million and Great Britain with $6.9 million.
