Huawei has introduced its new flagship smartphones lineup i.e. Mate 40 Series via online event. The latest series comprises 3 smartphones- Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro Plus. The series is the successor of the Mate 30 series. The phone was introduced with the phrase 'Leap Further Ahead' which suits the series pretty well. Every phone comes with 5G connectivity. Let's talk about the features and price of Huawei Mate 40, one of the phones in the series.
Huawei Mate 40 Overview
Design and Display
Huawei Mate 40 has a glass build on both rear and front along with an aluminum frame. The phone is also IP68 certified i.e. the phone is water and dust resistant. The display is edge-to-edge 3D curved, and the corners are rounded. The Mate 40 Pro and Pro plus are more curved than the Mate 40. On the rear panel, the phone has around camera setup similar to OnePlus 7T Pro. The polished and shiny finish of the rear panel gives it a premium look.
As for the display, Huawei Mate 40 has a 6.5 inches OLED HDR10 display with a resolution of 1080 × 2376 pixels. The display has a 90Hz Refresh rate along with a 240Hz touch sampling rate which gives a smooth scrolling feel. At the top left, the phone has a punch-hole cutout that houses the selfie camera. And the phone has an under-display optical fingerprint scanner sensor.
Performance
Under the hood, Huawei Mate 40 is equipped with Kirin 9000E chipset though other phones in the series have Kirin 9000 chipset. The chipset is packed with more than 15 billion transistors and is 5G compatible. The chipset is really powerful and is capable of multi-tasking, a high amount of data processing, and instantly-responsive AI computing. Huawei Mate 40 series has a 3.31 GHz Octa-Core CPU for improved performance and efficiency. As for the software, the phone has the latest EMUI 11 which as the company claims is speedier than ever. The phone runs on Android 10. The phone is coupled with 8GB RAM and as for the storage, it is available in two variants of 128GB and 256GB. You can also expand the storage with a NanoSD card.
Camera
Like the Mate 30 series, Huawei Mate 40 also features a circular camera at the rear which Huawei calls a Space Ring Design which is inspired by the first photo of Black Hole. The module has a circular module inside of it where there is a Leica Labeling. The phone features a Quad-camera setup at the rear with a 50MP primary sensor, 16MP Cine Camera, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and a laser sensor. At the front, the phone has a 13MP selfie camera. The added feature of the phone is that it can record with both front and rear cameras at the same time.
Battery and Others
Talking about the battery, Huawei Mate 40 features a 4200mAh battery which could have been expanded as it is a premium smartphone. However, the 40W fast charging support fills out that gap. With the fast charging support, you can easily juice up the drained battery in a small time.
As for the sensors, the phone has GPS, Gesture, Gravity, Infrared, Fingerprint, Gyroscope, Compass, Ambient Light, Proximity, Laser, and Color Temperature sensor.

Huawei Mate 40 Price and Availability in Nepal
As Huawei Mate 30 series have already launched in Nepal, we can expect Huawei Mate 40 series to soon arrive in the Nepalese market. The phone is currently available in Europe at the price of €899 for the 8GB/128GB variant. We can expect the phone to arrive at the price of NPR 1,70,000.
