Pager, a macaque monkey plays videogames with his mind via neuralink

15th April 2021
"A coin-sized disc called "Link" was implanted into Pager's brain, connecting threads from the chip to neurons responsible for controlling motion."

A nine-year-old macaque monkey named Pager has successfully played a game of Pong with his mind.

The demonstration by Elon Musk's neurotechnology company Neuralink has been a strong example of a brain-to-machine interface in action.

A coin-sized disc called "Link" was implanted into Pager's brain, connecting threads from the chip to neurons responsible for controlling motion.

In a video that surfaced online, Pager was first shown how to play Pong using a joystick.

When he made a correct move, he'd receive a sip of banana smoothie

As he played the Neuralink implant recorded the patterns of electrical activity in his brain.

Later it shows the joystick was disconnected but Pager continues to play the game using only his mind.

This technology could help people that are paralyzed, by giving them the ability to control computerized devices with their minds.

This would provide paraplegics, quadriplegics, and stroke victims the liberty of doing things by themselves again.

For example, prosthetic limbs might be controlled by signals from the Link chip and the technology would be able to send signals back making the prosthetic limb feel real

This technology has also been claimed to be able to remedy depression, addiction, blindness, deafness, and various other neurological disorders.

Elon Musk's SpaceX raises $1.9 billion in funding

18th August 2020
"This would be the largest single fundraising round to date by SpaceX, according to PitchBook data."

Billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX has raised $1.9 billion in new funding, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

This would be the largest single fundraising round to date by SpaceX, according to PitchBook data.

Bloomberg, which reported about the funding round last week, said the private rocket company will have an equity value of $46 billion after the transaction, citing people familiar with the matter.

The funding comes as SpaceX races to build out its Starlink satellite constellation to offer broadband internet commercially by the end of 2020. The company launched its eleventh batch of satellites on Tuesday and operates over 600 satellites in low-Earth orbit.

SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule completed its first two-month mission carrying astronauts for NASA in early August, with plans to start routine crewed missions to the International Space Station in late October.

Elon Musk Tweets Tesla Will Achieve Full Self-Driving Capabilities

19th August 2020
"Elon Musk had earlier claimed that he had a major program under work at Tesla about which he didn't share details."

Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk recently announced on Twitter to share a variety of updates on Tesla Autopilot and Full Self Driving (FSD). The Dojo Neural Net training centre. Since 2019 April Tesla has been working on a "DOJO", a supercomputer to train neural networks (NN). Elon Musk had earlier claimed that he had a major program under work at Tesla about which he didn't share details.

The mighty super training computer is now called Dojo. The aim behind Dojo is to take in vast amounts of data and train at a video level and do unsupervised training of massive amount of video data with the help of the Dojo program.

The dojo will be enabling faster Neural Network learning. The dojo is used to increase training speed and enable self-supervised learning. But then what is the issue with the existing Autopilot that the new update will be enhancing.

Tesla is developing a NN training computer called Dojo to process truly vast amounts of video data. It’s a beast! Please consider joining our AI or computer/chip teams if this sounds interesting.

When / what do you think will be the next big public release that shows a massive leap in Autopilot FSD? I feel like when Navigate on Autopilot came out that was a huge leap, will there be another one like that soon?

Our main engineering locations are Palo Alto, Austin & Seattle, but working remotely is acceptable for exceptional candidates

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) August 15, 2020

Tesla will be releasing an improved Autopilot which will be a limited release in 2 months. Tesla had announced that they were doing a rewrite of the program. As we all know the current Autopilot/FSD is great. In fact, Musk claimed that he has been running an "alpha" version of the update on his personal vehicle.

Tesla has 10 billion km of real-world driving data. This brings to our common curiosities whether the regulatory authorities will find Tesla's autopilot safer for robotaxis to ply on roads.

Tesla To Set Up Electric Car Manufacturing Unit In India - Reviews

14th February 2021
"Tesla To Set Up Electric Car Manufacturing Unit In India"

Several times, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that his company wants to enter the Indian market. The electric car manufacturer registered a branch in Bengaluru last month, which is a gateway for global technology companies.

In Karnataka, Tesla will set up an electric-car manufacturing facility, the southern Indian state's government said in a brief statement.

On Saturday, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa officially confirmed the decision, according to the India Today news organization. The announcement was part of the list of benefits promised in the Union budget for Karnataka.

"American firm Tesla will open a electric-car manufacturing unit in Karnataka," the statement by Yediyurappa said.

Tesla Motors India and Energy Private Limited were incorporated by the electric car manufacturer last month, with its registered office in the city of Bengaluru.

Musk, the richest man in the world, has tweeted several times about his desire to enter the Indian market. In December 2020, he verified that his company Tesla will launch in the country this year.

India has been interested in reducing its dependence on oil to minimize pollution, but its efforts to promote electric vehicles have been hindered by a lack of investment in manufacturing and infrastructure, such as charging stations.

The Indian authorities are planning to offer $4.6 billion (€3.80 billion) in incentives to companies setting up advanced battery manufacturing facilities.
