Suzuki Ciaz Smart Hybrid Review

Burning of fire and turning of wheels have been the most innovative discoveries that initiated development. We saw the use of fuel and electricity to drive these wheels to a destination. Fuel being a temporary source and electricity being a complex source, for now, the mid-point of these two sources is the smart hybrid.

Suzuki Moto Corp has introduced four hybrid cars at the NADA Auto Show 2019. They are Ciaz, Ertiga, S-Cross, and XL-6. The review unit we were provided was the all-new Smart Hybrid Ciaz.

Suzuki Ciaz Smart Hybrid Exterior

The car is a premium sedan. It is upmarket and classy. The car gets a slight rear slant which makes it look elegant. The headlights are wide and bold. The LED DRL signature lights make the car look sharper. The frontal grille has a chrome finish and a lot of chrome around the fog light. The backlights also have the signature LED stripes making you visible from far away. The reflectors are also topped up with the chrome garnishing. The ground clearance of the car is 170 mm.

Suzuki Ciaz Smart Hybrid Interior

The interior has a wood touch of luxury. The inside of the car is as spacious as it looks from the outside. It has a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The shade of the interior is light with leather upholstery. This is a five-seater car having enough space for all. The leg space and headroom are just enough for a comfortable drive. They have provided a large boot that can occupy 510 l.

Suzuki Ciaz Smart Hybrid Engine

This 1462cc engine provides a maximum power of 104 ps at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 138 nm at 4400 rpm. The car has four cylinders and four valves. The best part of the car is its mileage. With 1500 cc, it gives a mileage of 21.56 kmpl. Thanks to the smart hybrid technology.

What is a smart hybrid technology?

Smart Hybrid is an advanced technology that helps increase fuel efficiency and enhances driving performance. The engine automatically stops when idle and silently starts when the optimal conditions are met in manual and automatic transmissions. It comes with a dual battery setup including a Lithium-Ion Battery. These high capacity batteries store the energy generated during braking to assist the engine's idle start-stop and the torque assist functions. The energy stored in the Lithium-ion battery assists during acceleration which helps the engine in providing optimal acceleration and performance. The smart hybrid technology not only increases your performance but also saves your money that would have burnt with the total use of petrol.
