Daya Foundation has donated medical equipment to various community and government run hospitals to tackle the challenges faced while fighting the nation wide Covid-19 Pandemic.
The foundation has distributed 6 sets of high flow Nasal Cannula, 5 units of 5 ltr Oxygen Concentrators, 10 units of 10 ltr Oxygen Concentrators, 15 units of Thermal Gun, 15 units of Oxymeters along with 1000 units of safety kits (PPE, faceshield, sanitizer, masks and gloves) to Teku Hospital, Bir Hospital, Trauma Center, Chhetrapati Free Clinic, Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, TU Teaching Hospital, Patan Hospital, Nepal Ambulance Service and Aananda Kuti Isolation Centre.
While the whole nation is struggling in many levels due to the Covid 19 widespread, the foundation expresses its gratitude for being able to provide any kind of help in the situation. The foundation also thanks everyone who made the donation possible. The donations have been made to the hospitals to help the victims from low income families, in order to make sure that the unprivileged and financially struggling population are getting the necessary treatment, says Rajesh Pradhan, Chairperson of Daya Foundation. He adds that in such times private companies and organizations must also do what they can to find relief from this horror episode of humanity. Former Chairperson of Daya Foundation Kipa Mathema, who have been coordinating the foundation’s efforts in Covid-19 relief, says that the foundation has not only been distributing the medical supplies but also been involved in the treatment of Corona victims too, by producing manpower in the related fields through various training programs.
They have also been hosting virtual training programs on Critical Care Nursing, in association with Critical Care Nursing Organization Nepal and Nepal Critical Care Development Foundation. Training programs for the specific skills necessary for Corona treatment are being provided to the nurses from May 23rd which ends tomorrow.
Daya Foundation was established in the memory of Social Worker Lt. Dayaram Bhakta Mathema by the family members as a family trust for social service purposes, in 2009. The foundation mainly contributes to education, health and culture aspects of society. Daya Foundation presented Excellence Awards to the Covid Nursing Units of Teku Hospital, Bir Hospital, Kanti Bal Hospital, Chhetrapati Free Clinic for their remarkable service during the first wave of the virus last year.
