MG Hector launched In India - Reviews

By launching the 2021 MG Hector facelift in India, MG Motor kicks off in 2021. With slight aesthetic modifications and more features, MG has also revamped the Hector.

In the Nepalese market, the 2021 MG Hector facelift is set to be launched by mid-2021. The Hector is getting updates to the SUV's exterior and interior for 2021.

The company is also expected to launch the new 7-seater model in Nepal, according to the latest report available.

MG Hector Interior 

The latest Facelift includes a variety of features, such as :

  • -10.4-inch portrait oriented touchscreen, 
  • -connected car tech, 
  • -auto climate control, 
  • -powered front seats, 
  • -360-degree camera, 
  • -Apowered tailgate,
  • -Panoramic sunroof 

 

MG Hector Exterior 

The Hector facelift gets a new chrome-stud design on the front grille. The SUV features newly produced alloy wheels that are now 18-inch instead of 17-inch. Dual-tone exterior paint choices are also available for the Hector facelift.

MG Hector Engine

The 2021 Hector continues to deliver the same existing 1.5-litre petrol engines along with a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

The petrol versions produces 141 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, which are coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine, on the other hand, produces 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque and is standard fitted to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Speaking of safety, Hector gets:

  • -6 airbags, 
  • -ABS with EBD, 
  • -ESC, 
  • -Hill-hold assist and other safety features. 

 

MG Hector Price

As for the specifics of the pricing and launch in Nepal, confirmation has yet to be disclosed. The car will be available in Nepal for sale from mid-2021, according to the latest automotive news.

With features like Active Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Jam Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection, the SUV has the quality of a high-tech security car.

MG Motor India has launched India’s First Autonomous (Level 1) Premium SUV, MG GLOSTER, at an inaugural price starting at INR 28,98,000

With its elegant design and compelling features, GLOSTER appeals to the segment of premium and luxury that ranges from INR 25,00,000 to INR 50,00,000. It will be available in 4 feature-intensive variants in India, i.e. Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. They extend unmatched opulence to MG customers with multiple combinations such as luxurious bucket seats (6-seater and 7-seater), Two-Wheel Drive (2WD) and Four - Wheel Drive (4WD), and two engine choices including Twin Turbocharged Diesel engine.

The Savvy trim, priced at 35.38 lakhs, gives the perfect blend of luxury and technology with its Autonomous Level 1 Features (enabled by Advanced Driver Assistance System or ADAS) and an industry-first captain seat. It also includes Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Parking Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, alongside others.

Speaking on the price announcement, Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India said, “We believe that GLOSTER will establish a new benchmark while combining matchless luxury, technology, and off-roading experience in its segment. The customized MY MG SHIELD aftersales packages will further provide more alternatives to customers and ensure complete peace of mind. All of these features are in line with our philosophy of doing more than our customers’ expectations.”

GLOSTER is a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 215 bhp of peak power and has 480 Nm of torque. An eight-speed auto transmission unit comes as standard.

Gloster stands 5,005mm in length, 1,932mm in width, is 1,875mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,950mm.

GLOSTER’s Sharp and Savvy trims provide an Intelligent All-Terrain System that provides enhanced control during vehicle off-roading. They have a dedicated rear differential and BorgWarner transfer case, a state-of-the-art electronic shift-on-the-fly technology. Both come with seven different driving modes, namely ‘Snow’, ‘Mud’, ‘Sand’, ‘Eco’, ‘Sport’, ‘Normal’ and ‘Rock’.

GLOSTER’s i-SMART 2.0 comes with over 70 connected car features for Smart, Savvy, and Sharp. It also comes with 64-colour ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, driver’s seat massager and 12-way electronically adjustable driver seat. 

The massive SUV is the fourth offering from the company hereafter Hector, ZS EV and Hector Plus. MG Gloster will face off against Ford Endeavour and Totoya Fortuner even if the company says this SUV aims for more menacing rivals like Prado and Pajero.
