MotoGP: Valentino Rossi won't go to Yamaha-SRT just for a farewell tour

A report in AFP states that Valentino Rossi does not intend to join the Yamaha-SRT satellite team next year just for a "farewell tour", he said in a video posted on the official website. MotoGP Wednesday.

"I want to continue but only if I'm strong," said the seven-time Italian world champion, 41, who lost his handlebars for the next year in the official Yamaha team to the young Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, 21 years.

"My plan was very clear. Change some things in the team and wait until summer to see if I could be more competitive than last year", where he finished only 7th in the MotoGP world championship, recalled Rossi.

No MotoGP event could be organized as part of the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic and no date has yet been set for the start of the championship.

"Unfortunately, with this situation I have to decide without being able to run," lamented "Vale", sporting a small beard that grew during the confinement. "It's suddenly more difficult, I have to think more to see if I still have as much strength and motivation."

"I have a good opportunity with the Yamaha-SRT Petronas team which is at the top level as they showed last year with Fabio Quartararo and Franco (Morbidelli nldr.)", Added the Italian champion who has won more in MotoGP since 2018.
