All wired headsets getting 'Spoken Notifications ' feature by Google Assistant
"With this new function, incoming notifications can be set to interpret out aloud by the assistant while using wired headphones"
The new feature is being added to all wired headsets that would clear room for a proper Assistant unification with vocal notifications. Media reports say, "With this new function, incoming notifications can be set to interpret out aloud by the assistant while using wired headphones."
A report in the Android Police said this feature would take the user through the enrolling experience, which requires allowing the Google app to access the notifications and enabling personal results on the headphones when the device is locked. This new feature is said to work on all wired headphones, irrespective of the fact if they USB Type-C or a standard 3.5-mm jack.
Turning the readout notifications feature on:
A Google Assistant notification asking 'Talk to your Assistant on headphones' will pop up once a user plugs in their wired headphones. It would then seek several permissions. Once, the user allows, the Assistant would read their incoming notifications out loud.
Users can control this feature in Assistant settings by accessing > Devices > Wired headphones. One can enable or disable the advanced Assistant integration, check the shortcuts, and the headset's connection status.
