Tesla, already worth $600 billion, raises another $5 billion in stock

10th December 2020
"Tesla's shares are up by almost 668% this year."

Tesla has announced its plans to sell additional shares worth up to $5 billion. Tesla’s shares have climbed to record levels this year, making the company more valuable than traditional automotive firms such as Toyota.

This is the third time the company has raised shares this year. Also, the company says the sales will take place from 'time to time'. It had two other multi-billion dollar sales at the start of this year when the company was more in need of it.

As the profit raised, cash reserves have also increased in Tesla. The shares are being run-up this year for high profitability. It had $14.5 billion in cash on its books at the end of September, which is more than double what it had at the start of this year.

Tesla's shares are up by almost 668% this year. Also, Tesla's market value topped $600 billion for the first time, making it the most valuable automaker so far. Its shares are worth roughly as much as the next seven most valuable global automakers combined - Toyota, Volkswagen, Daimler, General Motors, BMW, Honda, and Hyundai.

Tesla Starlink beaming Internet with satellite, it is fast, expensive and little unreliable

1st November 2020
"Results of public beta testing of SpaceX’s Starlink, which provides global internet coverage from space are out."

Results of public beta testing of SpaceX’s Starlink, which provides global internet coverage from space are out. Users who took the test have confirmed blazingly fast results. To take the beta test, users had to purchase the Starlink ground equipment for $499 and along with an additional monthly fee of $99 for services.

One of the users, who took the test, posted on Reddit that he got the streaming 1440p and 4K with zero buffering on YouTube. He wrote, “Latency averages about 34ms, I'm seeing some jitter increase when obstacles are in the path. It's on the roof with the ridgeline mount. I have a couple of trees in the way, but getting steady high speeds. Noticed a couple of interruptions, probably from satellite transitions, but almost 100% steady since initial setup.

I actually uploaded this post using Starlink.”

As a few different people are looking for details on this, interruptions are about ten to fifteen seconds and seem to happen every few minutes. I haven't noticed enough repetition to determine, but I'm suspecting it may be when the satellite goes behind the few trees inside the obstruction area rather than satellite handoffs. The app claims Starlink has not been obstructed recently, though, so I'm uncertain,” it added.

Starlink had earlier sent invites to people who had signed for the beta program. A user on Reddit had shared the key points Starlink had mentioned about its Internet plan. As per the post on Reddit, the program called Better Than Nothing Beta offered estimated speeds between 50mbps to 150mbps, estimated latency of 20ms to 40ms. The phased array antenna and the router would cost a user $499 while the monthly subscription would cost around $99.

With performance that far surpasses that of traditional satellite internet, and a global network unbounded by ground infrastructure limitations, Starlink will deliver high-speed broadband internet to locations where access has been unreliable, expensive, or completely unavailable. Starlink is targeting service in the Northern U.S. and Canada in 2020, rapidly expanding to near-global coverage of the populated world by 2021,” the Starlink website reads.

Elon Musk plans new laws for Mars

Musk had revealed his plans of creating self-sustaining cities on Mars. The reports state that future colonies created by SpaceX would use Starlink satellites to provide internet connections to people. Starlink services provided to Earth or Moon will be governed by the laws of the State of California. “For services provided on Mars, or in transit to Mars or other colonization spacecraft, the parties recognize Mars as a free planet and that no Earth-based government has authority or sovereignty over Martian activities,” the governing law states.

Lamborghini Huracan STO has finally launched

8th December 2020
"The Lamborghini Huracan STO is a road-legal race car."

An official replacement for the Huracan Performant, Lamborghini Huracan STO has recently debuted. The STO in the name stands for Super Trofeo Omologata, which essentially implies that the car is a road-legal version of Squadra Corse's race cars based on the V10 machine. The new Huracan STO is 43 kilograms lighter when compared to the Performance. And that is mainly because has carbon fiber is used for more than 75 percent of the bodywork by Lamborghini. The windscreen alone is 20 percent lighter than that of its predecessor, and the total dry weight of the Huracan STO is a remarkable 1,339 kilograms.

The STO in the name stands for Super Trofeo Omologata, which essentially implies that the Lamborghini Huracan STO is a road-legal race car. Compared to its predecessor, Huracan Performante, the new STO is 43 kilograms lighter.

Pictorially, the Lamborghini HSTO is possibly one of the most radical-looking Huracans yet. The supercar runs on a set of 20-inch magnesium wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires which come in road and track configurations. Upfront, the car gets the signature sweptback LED headlamps with the W-shape LED daytime running lamps with orange highlights on the bonnet and front bumper with black diffuser. The hood lid has an air scoop for better cooling. At the back, you have a large spoiler with orange accents, along with sleek LED taillamps, high-mounted dual exhaust pipes, and a rear diffuser. Thanks to the adjustable spoiler the aerodynamic efficiency have increased by 37 percent, and the car has 53 percent more downforce over the Huracan Performante.
