Volkswagen has unveiled the Virtus, a new sedan In India. The Virtus is the first sedan to be built on the MQB A0 IN platform together with the Taigun, and it comes with two engine options and three transmission choices.
With that said, let’s take a quick look at Volkswagen Virtus with its key specifications:
Performance
The Virtus comes with two engine options: a 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI EVO with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT).
All models from the Dynamic Line get a 1.0L TSI engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 155 hp and a torque of 178 Nm.
The engine is mated to either a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Similarly, the Performance Line model is powered by the 1.5L TSI EVO engine–mated to a seven-speed DSG–which generates 148 hp of power and a torque of 250 Nm.
Design
The Virtus is bigger than the Vento in terms of length, width, and height. At the front, the sedan has a chrome-accented grille and bumper, as well as LED projector headlights (integrated with LED DRLs) and a split LED tail light.
The sedan comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels. An electric sunroof stands atop the well-designed cabin.
Premium leather and leatherette upholstered seats, a dual-tone dashboard, and a three-spoke leatherette steering wheel with mounted control buttons are all standard on the five-seater sedan's interior.
Features
The premium mid-size sedan comes with a plethora of convenience features such as an electric sunroof, start/stop push button, smart-touch Climatronic AC, ventilated front seats, height-adjustable head restraint, cruise control, wireless mobile charger, 4 USB ports and 12V socket, cooled glovebox, rain sensors, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.
The Virtus boasts 40-plus safety features such as six airbags, ESC, side-impact protection beam, impact-absorbing body components, reverse camera, multi-collision brakes, and an electronic differential lock (EDL), hydraulic brake boosters, and three-point seatbelts (all seats).
