They are the proud maker of Hayabusa and with the same racing DNA, Suzuki launched the Gixxer series. It was in 2014 that the first Suzuki Gixxer hit the market. Now in 2019 the Suzuki Gixxer series has been modified, improvised and adapted for this generation of riders.

The company claims that Suzuki Gixxer bike is inspired by European design trends. The muscular tank, sleek tail, LED headlamp and tail lamp, and the split seat is all stylish. This bike looks heavier in the front. The clip-on handlebars and twin-muffler make the gixxer look like a sportbike.

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, as the name suggests, has a 249cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, which provides the power of 26.5 PS @ 9000rpm and peak torque of 22.6 Nm @ 7500rpm. There are 6 gears and a powerful pickup.

The frontal suspension is telescopic and the rear is swing arm type mono suspension. The ground clearance is 165 mm. The wheelbase is 1340 mm. The fuel tank capacity of this bike is 12 liters with 2.4 liters in reserve.

With adaptations and improvements made by Suzuki, the price of Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is 4,96,900 NRS. Other bikes in the 250 segment are the KTM Duke 250, Benelli Leoncino 250, Italjet Buccaneer 250i and they are all priced higher than the Gixxer. Bikes with the same price range are the CF Moto NK and Benelli TNT 25.

The bike comes in two different colors -- black and silver. The 150 cc bikes get a glossy finish whereas these 250cc bikes get the matte finish.

 

Verdict

This commuter definitely has a sporty look and it really runs like a pointed arrow. It is a big no on off-roads as the frontal suspension is stiff and the bike does not perform well on rough surface. The bike flows easily in traffic due to lightweight. The bike gives instant pickups and runs like a maniac. The handles are low. So Long rides can be tiring in the hands and back.
