Hyundai Motor and Kia Corporation, two Korean carmakers, will soon begin producing electric vehicles in the United States. Hyundai Motor has stated that it intends to invest in manufacturing facilities and other logistics in order to achieve this goal within a few years.

Hyundai Motor has announced plans to invest $7.4 billion in electric vehicle production and smart mobility solutions in the United States by 2025.
"One main aspect of Kia's transformation is the shift from internal combustion engine to electrification," said Sean Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America. We are making significant strides not only to lead the EV market, but also to increase our contribution to the economies where we do business, thanks to our strategic investment in the United States to manufacture EV models."
President Joe Biden of the United States recently emphasized the importance of moving toward electric mobility. The US government plans to replace 650,000 of its fleet vehicles with electric vehicles manufactured in the country. Hyundai's decision to invest in electric vehicle production in the United States would enable it to sell some to the government as well.
Hyundai has a fully operational automotive manufacturing facility in Alabama, while Kia's vehicles are produced in Georgia. Hyundai and Kia will aim to benefit from an increasing number of electric vehicles on the road in the United States, in addition to taking advantage of the current EV policy in the United States.
