Kia announces extension of schedules for service due in lockdown times
"Kia India announced on Tuesday that it is extending service schedules for all vehicles that were due to be serviced in the next two months by two months"
Kia India announced on Tuesday that it is extending service schedules for all vehicles that were due to be serviced in the next two months by two months. With full or partial lockdowns in place across the country due to a raging second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Kia has stated that the concept behind the extension is to enable customers to use the service once the ground situation improves.
Kia informs that its dealerships have also been advised to follow local authorities' instructions, urging everyone to stay safe and follow social-distancing protocols. "At Kia, we place a premium on the well-being of our employees and customers. As a result, we've made sure that our dealerships obey the rules set out by the local government. We are extending the service scheduled during this time by two months to ensure service continuity "The company announced the news on Twitter.
Customers and the general public have been urged to keep their cars safely parked and to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
This comes as the world faces a major threat from the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has resulted in thousands of deaths.
Lockdowns and curfews have also caused a number of car factories to stop production and instead focus on maintenance. When a national lockdown was in effect in April and May of last year, sales were slow. Although sales improved dramatically in the following months, the current and prevailing situation is likely to have a significant effect on sales once again.
Kia sold 16,111 units in April of this year, but it, like almost any other automaker, will find it difficult to compete as more states impose strict movement restrictions in order to slow the rate of transmission.
