Bajaj factory for Triumph, KTM and Husqvarna to begin operations in 2023

13th May 2021
"According to reports, Bajaj's new factory will produce their premium motorcycles ranging from KTM to Triumph"

Naturally, an emphasis on luxury products in this new facility would mean a focus on cutting-edge equipment and assembly lines. More details will be made available prior to the factory's completion, as is customary.

According to the latest news, Bajaj will construct a new manufacturing facility just outside of its Pune headquarters. Although this information has been available for some time, new details about the facility's specifics are beginning to emerge, hinting at the vehicles that will be produced there. According to reports, this new plant will be used to produce the company's luxury motorcycles.

Furthermore, it's possible that the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer has already signed an MoU with Maharashtra's government and will soon begin construction on the new facility.

In 2023, this factory is expected to be operational. This is in line with the planned launch of the Bajaj-Triumph partnership's first motorcycle.

This new facility, according to the paper, will primarily be used by Bajaj's premium alliances, such as KTM, Husqvarna, and Triumph. Aside from Triumph, the KTM 500cc middle-weight motorcycles are likely to be produced at this plant.

22nd September 2020
"Husqvarna Motorcycles made its Nepal debut with the launch of the Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250."

husqverna-brand

The Vitpilen is a café racer-style bike, while the Svartpilen is a scrambler. Both bikes are powered by the same BS6-compliant 248.8 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that does duty in the KTM 250 Duke. The motor produces 29.5 hp at 9,000 rpm and 24 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. A gearbox is a six-speed unit, and both bikes are equipped with a slip and assist clutch.

Both the bikes share their underpinnings with the KTM 250 Duke including the drivetrain. Key highlights include a neo-retro design language, lightweight steel trellis frame, WP suspension with upside-down forks, Bosch Dual Channel ABS system, LED headlight and taillight, and 17” cast-aluminum wheels.

The Svartpilen 250’s dark color with a contrasting fuel tank, white accents, and a silver tail section give the motorcycle a rigorous look as compared to the Vitpilen 250. The Vitpilen 250, on the other hand, gets a white fuel tank with a grey tail section and silver accents.

Suspension duties on the 250 twins are taken care of by upside-down WP fork at the front and a monoshock with adjustable preload at the rear. Both ends offer 142mm of travel. In terms of braking, both the motorcycles get the same brake setup – a 320 mm disc Bybre four-piston caliper on the front wheel and a single-piston caliper on a 230 mm disc on the rear wheel, supported by a dual-channel ABS.

Both the motorcycles only hold 9.5-liters of fuel and the claimed fuel efficiency is 35 kmpl. Ground clearance stands at 145mm and the seat height is a massive 835mm.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 are both priced at NPR 6,54,900.

The Husqvarna twins will be sold out of KTM Showrooms.

Triumph Trident Formally Revealed in India

31st October 2020
"Triumph Trident will possibly also be introduced in India, mostly around mid-2021."

As a CKD import, the Triumph Trident will possibly also be introduced in India, mostly around mid-2021, to compete with the Kawasaki Z650 Triumph Motorcycles, which has finally debuted its newest triple-cylinder model, the Trident. In the UK, bookings for the motorcycle have started, and it will later go on sale in a few other foreign markets. In India as well, they expect the Trident to make landfall, perhaps by the middle of next year.

triumph-trident

Slotting under the speed-triple and street-triple motorcycles, the Triumph Trident will be the most affordable triple of the brand. It will contend against the Kawasaki Z650, Honda CB650, and Yamaha MT-07 in the international markets. The Trident is retro-inspired, yet combined with new technologies and characteristics. In addition to a circular entirely automated instrument cluster (with turn-by-turn navigation), it gets around the LED headlamp. Also contributing to the visual charm is the bulbous 14-liter fuel tank.

However, the tail section is very small, which gives it a sporty look, particularly with the LED tail light that looks sleek.

The underbelly exhaust looks rugged and quite heavy, but much of its mass is neatly masked, and the overall style is very sharp. A 660cc engine, capable of producing 81 HP of full power (at 10,250 rpm) and 64 Nm of peak torque (at 6,250 rpm), can power the Triumph Trident. This engine is paired with a slip-and-assist clutch with a 6-speed sequential transmission and a bi-directional fast shifter. Two riding modes are also available, Road and Storm, along with switchable traction control. The motorcycle also has a "My Triumph" connectivity system. A pair of Showa USD separate feature forks at the front and preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear are supported by the Trident.
