Production-Ready Hyundai Alcazar SUV Revealed
"The Hyundai Alcazar shares a lot of styling cues with the Creta upfront"
The production-ready model of Hyundai's upcoming 6 and 7-seater Alcazar premium SUV has been revealed ahead of its launch in India. The three-row SUV is built on the same platform as the Creta, but it has a longer wheelbase of 2760mm, which is 150mm longer.
The Hyundai Alcazar shares a lot of styling cues with the Creta upfront. Except for the new grille, the Alcazar resembles the Creta until the C-pillar. However, it is the rear section that distinguishes it from the Creta.
The Alcazar has a longer rear overhang and a thicker C-pillar. It also has a prominent waistline that runs the length of the vehicle, with noticeable creases above the wheel arches. The Alcazar will also get a unique tailgate design with much wider wraparound taillamps and a slightly taller bumper with a prominent faux skid plate.
The Alcazar will be available in both 6-seat (with captain's seats in the second row) and 7-seat configurations. The Alcazar features a first-in-segment rear 2nd-row console armrest for a premium feel and enhanced comfort, as well as a best-in-segment Wheelbase and Sliding seats for versatile legroom and seat adjustment.
The Alcazar will be equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Hyundai's connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, and much more.
The Alcazar will be offered with both gasoline and diesel engines. The 2.0-litre petrol engine generates 159hp and 192Nm. Similarly, the diesel engine is the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged unit that powers the Creta, producing 115hp and 250Nm. Both engines are offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
