Skoda India has revealed a brand-new mid-size sedan, Slavia, in the Indian market. The delivery of the newly launched sedan will start in the first quarter of 2022.
The Slavia comes with two engine options: a 1.0L TSI engine or a 1.5L TSI engine (with Active Cylinder Technology). The car powered by the 1.0L engine–mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission–generates a power of 85 kW and a torque of 178 Nm.
And the one powered by the 1.5L engine with ACT generates 110 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. It comes mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DSG.
The Slavia offers an extensive range of active and passive safety features. Fitted with ESC as standard, high levels of driving safety are ensured in all models.
The Slavia is also equipped with XDS and XDS+. These assistance systems are part of the Electronic Differential System (EDS), which improves wheel traction. The saloon can be equipped with up to six airbags.
These include airbags for the driver and front passenger as standard, as well as the optional front side airbags and curtain airbags. All headrests are height-adjustable, and the center seat in the rear is also equipped with a three-point seat belt. ISOFIX anchors and Top Tether anchor points on the rear seats, which come as standard.
Built on the MQB A0 platform (modular transverse matrix), the Slavia boasts a host of safety features such as traction control, ISOFIX mount, ABS with ESC, tire-pressure monitoring system, electronic brake-force distribution, electronic differential lock, hill-hold control, disc-brake wiping, multi-collision braking, vehicle stability management, and rain and light sensor.
The sedan comes in three variants: Active, Ambition, and Style. And it is offered in five different colors: Candy White, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Tech, Tornado Red, and Crystal Blue.
