Skoda Octavia 2021 variants, features, specs, and other details

10th June 2021
"The Skoda Octavia 2021 will join Skoda Auto India's current lineup, which includes the Skoda Rapid, Skoda Superb, and Skoda Octavia RS 245"

On June 10, Skoda Auto India will introduce the fourth-generation Skoda Octavia in India. Before the 2021 Skoda Octavia goes on sale, the company has revealed its variants, features, specifications, and color possibilities.

Variants of the Skoda Octavia 2021

The Skoda Octavia 2021 will be offered in two trim levels: Style and Laurin & Klement.

Price  (expected)

The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia is expected to be priced between INR 17 lakh and INR 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Features

The Skoda Octavia 2021 has a more aggressive front end with a newly styled grille with a chrome-plated frame, slimmer headlamps with bi-LED technology, and LED fog lamps. The executive sedan's coupe-like roofline and 17-inch alloy wheels give it a dynamic appearance. The alloy wheels are created differently for the Style and Laurin & Klement variations. The rear-end, like the front-end, is sharp, with several lines going over the breadth of the automobile. The SKODA logo is prominently featured on the motorized tailgate. LEDs are used in the new two-part tail lamps.

The two-spoke steering wheel with knurled scroll wheels, first seen in the 2021 Skoda Superb, is also seen in the new Skoda Octavia. Other notable features include suede and leather upholstery, memory-adjustable front seats, dual-zone Climatronic AC with Aircare filter, Canton sound system with 12 speakers, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, and paddle shifters.

Skoda Octavia 2021 safety features

The Skoda Octavia 2021 Style comes with six airbags, while the Laurin & Klement grade comes with eight. The parking brake is electromechanical, and the auto hold feature is standard.

ABS, EBD, ESC (electronic stability control), AFS (adaptive front light system), MKB (multi collision brake), MBA (mechanical brake assist), HBA (hydraulic brake assist), ASR (anti slap regulation), and EDL are among the active safety assist systems available on the executive sedan (electronic differential lock). To top it all off, the new Skoda Octavia has adaptive headlights and a driver tiredness alarm.

Color

The Skoda Octavia 2021 Style will be available in three color options: Lava Blue, Magic Black, and Candy White. Brilliant Silver and Maple Brown are two additional color options for the Laurin & Klement trim.

Engine

The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI (turbocharged stratified injection) petrol engine that produces 190PS and 320Nm of peak torque. The engine is coupled to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, which transfers power to the front two wheels. Skoda has now added shift-by-wire technology to the Octavia, a first for the executive sedan.

Skoda Octavia 2021 Dimensions

The new Octavia, according to Skoda, is larger than the previous car. The Skoda Octavia 2021 has measurements of 4,689mm in length, 1,469mm in height, and 1,829mm in width.

It has a wheelbase of 2,686mm. The executive sedan has a large boot with a capacity of 600+ litres, which can be expanded to 1,555 litres when the second row of seats is folded down.

Competitors for the Skoda Octavia in 2021

With the Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic no longer available in India, the executive sedan class is now dominated by the Hyundai Elantra, which will be the lone opponent of the Skoda Octavia in 2021.

2020 Skoda Octavia interior Teased

6th November 2019
"The brand’s best-seller features a new two-spoke steering wheel. World premiere of the new OCTAVIA on 11 November in Prague"

ŠKODA has released two design sketches providing the first glimpse of the new interior concept for the upcoming OCTAVIA. The ŠKODA best-seller’s new generation will, for the first time ever, feature a multi-level instrument panel and a new steering wheel with two spokes. The world premiere of the fourth-generation ŠKODA OCTAVIA will take place on 11 November in Prague.

The sketches released by ŠKODA Design show the redesigned instrument panel in the new OCTAVIA. Topped by a large, free-standing central display, it’s composed of several layers whose lines and colours reference the signature shape of the ŠKODA grille. The instrument panel’s visual width emphasises the cabin’s generous sense of space. The fourth generation of the most popular model in ŠKODA history once again provides even more interior space than its predecessor.

The new interior concept also includes a steering wheel with a two-spoke design featuring buttons and scroll wheels that make for enhanced ergonomics. In the elegant and tidy centre console, a small rocker switch has taken the place of the familiar selector lever. It uses shift-by-wire technology to electronically communicate the desired DSG transmission setting. Also making its debut in the new OCTAVIA is the Climatronic three-zone air conditioning system.
