Twitter is working to introduce a feature that will stop the users from Tweeting offensive content.
With the number of social media users with intentions to create conflicts and sharing unethical humorous content, Twitter is massively inflicted by trolls that harass people.
However the social media giant has decided to take action to protect its users from unnecessary ridicule. Twitter will now warn the users before they post offensive tweets.
This feature has been on test for a year, and now Twitter is preparing to roll out the feature to the public. The company started testing the feature with a small group back in 2020.
Initially, people often received prompts even when they engaged in friendly banter, but new algorithms have been improved with collected feedback. According to the test results, when users were prompted about offensive language, over 34% of people revised their initial reply or decided not to send at all, 11% composed fewer offensive replies.
Twitter is working on improving its technology to detect profanity, strong language more accurately. However, it may not send prompts if two people follow each other and are interactive.
