The RAV4 is one of Toyota's most popular SUVs worldwide and one of the most popular vehicles in the Nepalese market. The crossover, now in its fifth generation and based on the brand's TNGA architecture, has a low, car-like stance as well as angular and edgy styling. Toyota's official distributors in Nepal, United Trader Syndicate, launched the Toyota RAV-4 in 2020.
The Toyota RAV4 is an excellent compact SUV. This well-rounded utility vehicle has a spacious cabin filled with high-end materials and a plethora of standard features, while the fuel-efficient engine provides plenty of power.
Exterior
If you want an SUV that stands out from the crowd of boxy utility vehicles, the Toyota RAV4 is an excellent choice. Its design is delightfully modern, and each trim distinguishes itself from the others with a unique exterior element here and there. The smallest wheels are naturally found on the lowest trim levels, with the LE and XLE riding on 17-inch steel and alloy wheels, respectively. Almost every other model gets 19-inch alloys in a variety of designs, with only the TRD Off-Road getting 18-inch chrome-finished sport alloys.
Even the base model comes standard with multi-LED headlights and daytime running lights, but the XLE adds an auto on/off function and fog lights.
RAV4 comes standard with LED projector-beam headlights and a SMART key system, as well as modern LED taillights, an integrated rear spoiler, and dual chrome exhaust tips.
Interior
Despite being classified as a compact vehicle, the RAV4 is quite large on the inside. The cabin is made up of a good deal of tough and durable hard plastic, but almost all of the key touchpoints and high traffic areas are covered in soft-touch materials. This gives the interior a decidedly upscale feel. The compact Toyota, true to its nature as a practical people hauler, is designed with people in mind.There is plenty of space to move around and get comfortable, and all of the controls for the comfort and infotainment features are conveniently located.
Inside, the RAV4 gets improved connectivity and an 8-inch infotainment screen, as well as a 7-inch multi-info display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an 11-speaker JBL premium stereo, four additional USB ports, HD Radio, and a navigation system.
Engine
The new Hybrid RAV-4 is powered by a 2487 cc Euro 6 engine that produces 131 kW @ 5700 RPM. It is equipped with an Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT). Using an electric motor-generator to continuously change the gear ratio for smooth acceleration helps the engine maintain its most efficient rpm. In hybrid mode, it can be run automatically.
The electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) in the RAV4 Hybrid provides all-weather capability as well as confident on-road driving dynamics.
The RAV4 Hybrid has five driving modes: ECO, EV, Sport, Trail, and Normal.
Features
It comes with a rearview camera as well as the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of driver aids. Pedestrian detection, a pre-collision warning and braking system, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, road sign recognition, and lane trace assist, which reads lane markers and detects other vehicles, are all included in this package.
It also has blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert and rear cross-traffic braking, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view parking camera system.
