"Assumes its smartphone market leadership in just over one year of business in Nepal."

Xiaomi, global technology leader, today announced that it has become the number one smartphones brand in Nepal, as per IDC’s latest Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Q1 2020 Report. Sourabh Kothari, Country General Manager - Nepal, Xiaomi said, “This is an exhilarating moment for us at Xiaomi Nepal, as we become the leader in the smartphone market for the very first time. Driven by our mission to bring innovation for everyone, we shall strive to work even harder for our Mi fans.”

He further added, “We are so grateful for the immense love and support we have received from our Mi Fans, who have believed in us every step of the way. The journey since our start here has been a humbling experience and I truly believe we will become an even bigger part of people’s lives with our commitment to gain our users’ love and trust through best specs, highest quality and honest pricing.”

The brand witnessed gradual growth in the market in the form of successful festive sales. The company was No 1 in all sale events of online selling partner Daraz.com with the Dashain sale of Xiaomi contributing massively to the brand. The offline growth had a significant role to play in the overall growth with Xiaomi setting up more than 900 offline partners with 350 Mi Preferred Partner shops across the country within a year, strengthening their presence in Nepal.

The company currently holds a strong distribution network across locations. They have also fortified their position in the market with robust after-sales service through exclusive authorized service centers as well as a dedicated service warehouse to fulfil customer requirements in Nepal.

Xiaomi is currently the world’s fourth-largest smartphone brand and has established the world’s largest consumer IoT platform, with more than 171million smart devices (excluding smartphones and laptops) connected to its platform. Currently, Xiaomi products are present in more than 80 countries and regions around the world and have a leading foothold in many markets.
