Annapurna, an independent media production company best known for producing award-winning video games and films, is forming an in-house game development studio to create its own projects.

The company already operates a publishing business started back in 2016 under the name Annapurna Interactive, and it’s responsible for helping fund and market some of the most beloved indie games of the last decade. Those include What Remains of Edith Finch, Kentucky Route Zero, and Outer Wilds, among many others.

Annapurna Pictures, the film side of the company, is even more well known, earning countless Academy Award nominations and wins for films it has co-produced like Her, American Hustle, and Zero Dark Thirty. Now, Annapurna wants to make its own games with an all-new internal studio.

“We’ve had the immense honor of working with some of the most talented independent game creators in the world,” Annapurna Interactive president Nathan Gary said in a statement. “Many of us came from an internal development background and are excited to make this a part of Annapurna Interactive moving forward. We can’t wait to share more about what’s to come — anything is possible.” The new studio will be based in Los Angeles, and Annapurna is currently hiring for a new unnamed project with openings for game director and senior producer.

The shift represents a telling trend in game development, where it’s sometimes more financially viable to produce projects in-house, instead of funding outside ones for a cut of profits, and market them to the variety of platforms available across consoles, PC, mobile, and now cloud gaming and subscription services. Though what kind of games Annapurna intends to create is still a mystery, and it looks like it may not take the wraps off its first project for some time.

The Redmi K20 Pro PUBG Mobile Tournament 2020 Nepal final was held at Chhaya centre, Thamel on 22nd Feb 2020 with the top 16 teams.

Xiaomi Nepal with Kurukshetra  organized a PUBG event in Nepal. This was one of the perfect platforms for PUBG players to showcase their talent. The gaming community in Nepal has been growing quite a lot these past few years. Xiaomi  had organized this PUBG Mobile Tournament 2020 event in collaboration with Kurukshetra. In the finals of this PUBG Mobile Tournament, there were a total of 16 teams out of 160 teams playing against each other.

In the LAN finals, the 16 teams had a battle with each other. Each team was giving tough competition to each other. But out of these 16 finalists, KINGS NEPAL won the first position. Team SINS and team EXPERIMENTAL took second and third position respectively.

The prize pool for these PUBG tournament winner teams was Rs 50,000 for 1st position, Rs 30,000 for 2nd position and Rs 20,000 for a 3rd position.

For the top 5 position holders, Vianet is also offering free internet services. 1st position holder-KINGS Nepal will be given free 20Mbps internet for 1 year, 2nd place holder (SINS) will get free 20Mbps internet for 6 months. And for the 3rd–Experimental, the 4th–Ultimate Bang and the 5th– MAD ES Nepal finisher will get free 20Mbps internet for 3 months.

French gaming giant Ubisoft is parting ways with its creative director and two other executives and promising zero tolerance for “toxic” staff behavior following an internal investigation of misconduct and media reports of sexual harassment and other workplace abuse.

In a statement Sunday, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the developer of “Assassin’s Creed” and other games “has fallen short in its obligation to guarantee a safe and inclusive workplace environment for its employees.”

“This is unacceptable, as toxic behaviors are in direct contrast to values on which I have never compromised — and never will,” Guillemot said.

Ubisoft announced the immediate resignation of Serge Hascoet as the firm’s powerful chief creative officer.

Hascoet joined Ubisoft in 1987, the year after Guillemot founded the company with his four brothers. Ubisoft had previously described Hascoet as its “creative leader” whose “unique vision has infused every game released by the company.”

The director of Ubisoft’s Canadian studios, Yannis Mallat, is also leaving immediately, because “recent allegations that have come to light in Canada against multiple employees make it impossible for him to continue in this position,” the company said.

Cecile Cornet is being replaced as Ubisoft’s global head of human resources.

Guillemot also promised further “profound changes across the company to improve and strengthen our workplace culture.”

Investigations by French daily Liberation and other media reports have pointed to alleged sexual harassment targeting women employees, and other workplace misconduct, and a growing willingness by some in the industry to speak up against abuses in the wake of the #MeToo movement.

The management shake-up at Ubisoft follows its announcement in June of an internal investigation and an apology “to everyone affected by this.”

“We must do better,” it said then.

Microsoft is rolling out a new update to the Xbox Game Bar on Windows 10 this week, and it now lets you track what apps are taking up precious RAM, CPU, GPU, and disk resources. While there are a number of overlays and apps that can do this already on PCs, Microsoft’s Xbox Game Bar is built into Windows 10, and it’s fairly flexible and lightweight as a result.

The new resources widget keeps track of the top tasks and their associated impacts, rating them low, medium, or high. You can either monitor them by pinning the widget to your desktop or even close off apps without ever tabbing out or leaving a game.

This resource widget is different from the performance one, which lets you keep an eye on overall system utilization. Microsoft has also added the ability to monitor GPU utilization and GPU memory usage in the performance widget.

Finally, if you’re wondering whether your PC is ready for DirectX 12 Ultimate, there’s a new section in the settings of the Xbox Game Bar that will give you an easy answer. DirectX12 Ultimate promises to unify graphics tech for PC gaming and the Xbox Series X, with support for ray tracing, Variable Rate Shading, mesh shaders, and sampler feedback.

The updated Xbox Game Bar is available right now, and if you’re not seeing these widgets yet, check for updates in the Microsoft Store app.
