The Third-gen Hyundai i20 has been named as the winner of the 2021 Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) Award.

The new Hyundai i20 took top honors in its category with 104 points from the jury, the Kia Sonet followed in second with 91 points, and the new Mahindra Thar in third with 78 points.

Each of the judges scored the contenders on 25 points. The points are distributed among the top-five shortlisted models, with each jury member announcing their winner for each category, the results of which are collaborated to decide the actual winner.

This panel of judges consists of experienced automotive journalists from the biggest automotive publications in India.

"The second-generation Hyundai Creta is going on sale today 21 Sept 2020 in Nepal and it is sure to be a tough competition in the mid-size SUV segment."

The second-generation Hyundai Creta BS-6 has unveiled today, in Nepal and it is sure to be a tough competition in the mid-size SUV segment which is currently being ruled by SUVs such as Kia Seltos, Ford Ecosport, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The SUV follows the standard of BS-VI emission norms.

Laxmi InterContinental Pvt. Ltd. the authorized distributor of the widely popular Hyundai vehicles, has unveiled the most awaited Ultimate SUV, The All-New Hyundai Creta in Nepal. The launch was conducted through a virtual webcast done from the digital platforms of Hyundai Nepal i.e. official Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube page. 

Speaking about the All-new Hyundai Creta, Mr. Rupesh Sharma Bhatta, GM, Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd. stated, “Over the years, Hyundai CRETA has set new benchmarks, becoming an Iconic Brand name among Nepalese consumers and building a strong legacy with over 5000+ Happy Customers across Nepal. With Hyundai's Global Design language - 'Sensuous Sportiness', the Front of the SUV is characterized by the 3-dimensional Cascading Grille with muscle like vertical and horizontal patterns and sculpted bumper with skid plates. Flared wheel arches coupled with thoughtfully crafted crease lines on the bonnet add to the imposing stance of All-New CRETA. Uniquely separated boomerang-shaped LED DRLs along with LED Head Lamps and smartly positioned fog lamps along with Welcome Function with Auto Unfold ORVM’s & Puddle Lamps which gives the SUV a futuristic look. 

Inside, the new Creta gets an all-new two-tone Black & Greige interior with a 26.03cm HD Infotainment system, Leather-wrapped steering with mounted controls, 17.78cm digital instrument cluster, Auto Healthy Air Purifier, and Smoothing Blue Ambient Lighting.  In terms of Safety, The All-New Creta has a strong body structure with AHSS, and the vehicle loaded with various safety features such as Front Dual Airbags, Driver Rear View Monitor, Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Rear Parking Sensors with Camera.

2020 Hyundai Creta Variants and Specification

The second-generation Hyundai Creta five-seater will come in three variants: a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated MPi petrol, a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel, and a 1.4-liter turbo GDi petrol. The 1.5-liter petrol provides 115 PS power and 142 Nm torque, whereas the 1.5-liter diesel engine offers 115 PS power and 250 Nm torque. The more powerful turbo petrol provides 140 PS power and 242 Nm torque.

Hyundai Creta 2020 Colours 

The Hyundai Creta 2020 will be sold in the following color options – Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Black, Lava Orange, Titan Grey, Deep Forest (Turbo Only), Galaxy Blue, Red Mulberry, Polar White with Phantom Black (Dual-Tone), and Lava Orange with Phantom Black (Dual-Tone).

Hyundai Creta 2020 Price in Nepal

The All-New Creta is available in various engine options that are 1.5-liter Petrol and 1.5-liter VGT Diesel. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual that will be standard across the range, along with an optional torque convertor for the 1.5 diesel engine, and the iVT automatic for the 1.5 petrol motor. The new generation Creta will be offered in a total of 6 variants.

Hyundai Venue SUV has been awarded a 2020 TSP

"The Hyundai Venue SUV has been awarded a 2020 TSP rating when equipped with optional LED headlights."

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) announced that Hyundai tied for the most combined TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) and TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP)-rated vehicles in the automotive industry today. Hyundai has 10 award-winning vehicles. Hyundai also tied for top honors in Feb. 2020.

The Hyundai Venue SUV has been awarded a 2020 TSP rating when equipped with optional LED headlights, which are available on SEL trim with Premium Package and top-of-the-line Denim model. The Venue is Hyundai’s 10th vehicle and its 6th SUV to receive a top safety rating. As a result, now all Hyundai SUV models have TSP or TPS+ honors. The addition of the Venue’s designation ties Hyundai as the brand with the most TSPs in the industry.

To achieve a 2020 IIHS TSP award, Venue earned good ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. A superior rating for available vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention.

The Venue SEL trim with Premium Package received an advanced rating during its vehicle-to-pedestrian prevention evaluation and the Venue Denim trim earned a superior score for its vehicle-to-pedestrian prevention system. The venue also has acceptable rated headlights available. The TSP rating only applies to SEL trim with Premium Package and Denim trims that come with LED headlights.
