GMS support for Honor 50 series outside of China
"The Honor 50 and 50 Pro can output over a billion colors thanks to their 10-bit color depth"
In China, Honor has officially unveiled the Honor 50 series. After severing ties with Huawei last year, this is the company's first flagship product. The essential specifications and features of the Honor 50 Series (Honor 50, 50 SE, and 50 Pro), as well as their estimated price in Nepal, will be discussed here.
Overview of the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro:
Display and Design
The Honor 50 5G has a 6.57-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a camera cutout in the center. The 50 Pro 5G, on the other hand, has a slightly larger AMOLED screen, measuring 6.72-inches. Apart from the larger display, the Honor 50 Pro sports a pill-shaped camera cutout that sets it apart from the regular Honor 50.
The remainder of the display characteristics are the same on both phones. The Honor 50 and 50 Pro can output over a billion colors thanks to their 10-bit color depth. The pair is also HDR certified and features a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate.
The two phones have a two-tier camera module on the back. On top of a pill-shaped base, two circular rings protrude. The primary sensor is enclosed by the upper ring, while the rest of the camera equipment is contained by the lower ring.
Performance
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 778G chipset is in charge underneath. It's worth noting that the Honor 50 and 50 Pro are the first devices to feature the chipset. The Snapdragon 778G is a scaled-down version of the Snapdragon 780G. It is based on TSMC's 6nm node rather than Samsung's 5nm.
In other news, Honor's choice to severe relations with Huawei has paid off. For the global market, the company has stated that its phones and tablets would come with Google Mobile Services (GMS). It is unclear whether GMS will be pushed to older cellphones. Honor has confirmed that the 50 series will be available in 40 different markets, however the specific dates have yet to be announced.
Camera
The primary camera in the quad-camera arrangement in the back is the 108MP ISOCELL HM2. By default, this 1/1.52-inch sensor captures 12MP images utilizing the non-binning technique. The rest of the configuration is disappointing for a phone in this price range. Honor has integrated an 8MP ultrawide camera as well as two 2MP auxiliary sensors.
A 32MP front-facing camera is available for selfies. It is also accompanied with a 12MP ultrawide camera in the Pro variant.
Moving on, the basic model's 4,300mAh battery is larger than the Pro model's 4,000mAh cell. The Pro version, on the other hand, features a quicker charging rate of 100W to compensate for the smaller battery. The normal model, on the other hand, need 66W to charge.
