The Proton X70: 2021's upcoming car
"Jagdamba Motors is preparing to launch the Proton X70 SUV in the Nepalese market"
The official distributor for Proton Cars in Nepal, Jagdamba Motors, is preparing to launch the Proton X70 SUV in the Nepalese market. In Nepal, the Proton X70 will sit beside the Saga sedan in the company's lineup.
The Proton X70 is Malaysia's best-selling SUV, competing against the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, and Kia Sportage.
The Proton X70 will be offered in four different drivetrain configurations, including FWD and AWD. A 1.5-litre TGDi turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with 255 Nm of torque will power the X70 (which will be the highest in the segment).
Volvo and Geely collaborated on the development of the 7-speed DCT transmission.
The SUV will also be equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which is only available in a few luxury manufacturers. The corporation was previously rumored to be testing the adaptation of similar technologies on Nepalese roadways. Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Information System, Door Open Warning System, and Intelligent High Beam Control are among the features included in the ADAS system.
The Proton X70 SUV, according to the manufacturer's website, includes best-in-class features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBS and BA, Auto Headlights & Wipers, Keyless Entry, Push-Start, 360-Degree Camera, 9 Speakers, an 8-inch Infotainment Screen with smartphone connectivity, Climate Control with Smart Air Purifier System, Electrically Foldable Wing Mirrors, and LED Projector Headlights with LED DRL.
The X70 measures 4,519mm in length, 1,831mm in width, and 1,694mm in height. It had a 2,670mm wheelbase and a 190mm ground clearance.
The X70 also received a full 5-star crash test rating from ASEAN-NCAP and was named Malaysia's 2019 Car of the Year Award winner.
The ‘HI PROTON' voice command assistance technology, a Global Key User Interface (GKUI) technology that can recognize and respond to chosen voice commands to increase safety by allowing drivers to focus on the road ahead, is also likely to be included in the X70. Voice Command can answer simple questions and operate primary functions of the infotainment system as well as vehicle in-car operations.
Many additional automotive functions, such as the radio, sunroof, windshields, and audio call, can also be controlled.
