How to Get Rid of Car Decals/Stickers
"Are you sick of seeing those old Decals and stickers on your bumper, windshield, and other parts of your car?"
Are you sick of seeing those old Decals and stickers on your bumper, windshield, and other parts of your car? Well, it is possible to successfully remove old bumper stickers from your vehicle without damaging the paint.
Given below are some of the best ways to remove stickers from your car without damaging it:
Soapy Water
The most basic way of removing this from your windshield in a car is to use soapy water.
First, start peeling the sticker diagonally so that you can remove the majority of the sticker. Use a bucket and fill it with warm water and a little bit of dish soap or liquid detergent.
Once the sticker is removed, the paper from the back of the sticker, the torn portion of the sticker (if any), and the sticky part will be left behind.
Mix it well and use a rag to begin soaking the sticky part so that the glue starts to absorb the moisture. Do this a couple of times until the glue is completely soaked.
After the glue is soaked, use your fingers or a plastic scraper or the rag to remove it.
Window Cleaning Detergent
You can also use your window cleaning detergent to remove the sticker.
All you have to do is spray the window cleaner onto the sticker and leave it on for a few minutes.
Then check if the sticker has gone soft or if it is slipping when you touch it.
You can use a plastic scraper to scrape out the sticker gently without harming the windshield in the car once it is soft.
Wipe the glass dry with a paper towel to make it look clean.
Rubbing Alcohol
Rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol works exceptionally well for removing stickers from your car windshield.
Take some dry paper towels and soak them with some rubbing alcohol. Then take the paper towel and start dabbing the sticker until it is completely soaked.
You will find that the sticker is becoming soft. Use a plastic scraper or a plastic card to scrape out the sticker.
If there is any residue left, you can use a fresh paper towel soaked in alcohol to rub it away.
Baking Soda
Using baking soda to get rid of any sticker or decal on your windshield is an excellent technique.
Moreover, using baking soda is also completely harmless as it is non-toxic. Just add some baking soda to half a cup of everyday cooking oil.
Mix the solution and start dabbing the sticker with it. Let it soak for some minutes and then peel the sticker off from the edges.
You can use a plastic scraper, a plastic card, or even your fingers to peel it off. But, remember never to use baking soda if your windshield glass is tinted as it will damage the tint.
Apply Some Heat
Heat is another excellent way to remove most stickers and decals. The adhesives in stickers don’t hold up well to high heat.
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the sticker, then try peeling or scraping it off. 30 seconds of direct, high heat from a hairdryer is usually enough to loosen stubborn stickers.
Use water and a quality car soap to get the area cleaned upright.
