The leaked image reveals variant-wise prices of the SUV, suggesting that it will get a starting price of INR 5,50,000 (ex-showroom) for the 1.0-litre XE petrol variant. And, the top-of-the-line 1.0-litre turbo petrol XV premium CVT variant will cost INR 9,55,000 (ex-showroom).

If SUV launched at the above-mentioned starting price, it will not only undercut the segment leaders like Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue but also recently launched Kia Sonet SUV by a good margin. The official India prices are yet to be announced and can expect Nissan to reveal them later this month.

Nisshan Magnite production

The SUV is manufactured at the company's manufacturing facility, in Oragadam, Chennai. Nissan will be using the same facility to cater to both the domestic and export markets.

The Nissan has already revealed engine specifications, features, and various other details of the soon-to-be-launched Magnite SUV. Mechanically, the SUV will get two petrol engine options - the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated motor and the new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

The naturally aspirated motor will make 71 bhp and 96 Nm of power figures and will come mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The turbocharged motor will churn out 99 bhp and 160 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission. As for fuel efficiency, the manual and CVT variants with 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit will return a mileage of 20 kmpl and 17.7 kmpl respectively.

Nissan Magnite Price Hiked In Nepal

24th March 2022
"After its launch in India, the Nissan Magnite has undergone its second price increase"

After its launch in India, the Nissan Magnite has undergone its second price increase. In India, the turbo versions of the Magnite have increased in price by up to INR 30,000

Nissan Magnite nepal

The Magnite turbo-petrol variants now cost between INR 7.29 lakh and INR 9.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Magnite saw its first price increase in January, when the company raised the price of the base variant.

According to unconfirmed reports, the price increase is due to a shortage of semiconductor chips caused by US trade sanctions against Chinese companies such as Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. The shortage has escalated as a result of the pandemic's surge in demand for electronics and personal computers. According to experts, the semiconductor shortage would likely last until the first quarter of FY22.

Will the price hike in India affect turbo variants in Nepal as well? As of today, we haven't received any updates on the matter, but as supply struggles to keep up with demand for semiconductors, expect production costs to rise.

The Magnite is available with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 71 BHP and 96 Nm and a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol unit that makes 99 BHP and 160 Nm. Both engines are offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Magnite sub-compact SUV was recently launched in Nepal at a starting price of Rs 31,99,000. The sub-compact SUV is available in four trims – XE (Base), XL (Mid), XV (Upper), and the XV (Premium) in a total of 11 variants.

Price list of the Nissan Magnite in Nepal:

VARIANTS   PRICE
Magnite XE                      3,199,000.00

Magnite XV (Dual)                      3,834,000.00
Magnite XV Premium                      4,149,000.00
Magnite XV Premium (Dual)                      4,184,000.00
