Updated Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Launching On 10th May

9th May 2021
"Isuzu's popular double-cab pickup, the D-Max V-Cross, will finally go on sale in BS6 compliant form on May 10th"

Isuzu's popular double-cab pickup, the D-Max V-Cross, will finally go on sale in BS6 compliant form on May 10th. After the BS6 standards were implemented last year, this tough but well-mannered SUV was discontinued. The V-Cross was priced between Rs 16.5 Lakh and Rs 20 Lakh at the time. It was available with two diesel engines, a 2.5L and a 1.9L on the top-tier automatic variant. The new V-Cross will only be available with the 1.9L engine and will be more expensive than before due to the additional hardware required to be BS6 compliant.

The update made it cleaner and more powerful, with a 10PS and 10Nm increase over the BS4 version. A 6-speed automatic transmission will remain available. Aside from that, the V-Cross hasn't changed much. According to leaked brochures, the length, width, and wheelbase remain unchanged. However, the height has decreased by 15mm. At 1,990kg, the new V-Cross is also a little heavier, having gained 55kgs while preparing for BS6 compliance.

The top-end versions of the V-Cross, on the other hand, are expected to cost up to Rs 24 lakh! To offset the price increase, Isuzu will introduce a new Hi-Lander model that will forego the four-wheel drive hardware.

The top-end versions of the V-Cross, on the other hand, are expected to cost up to Rs 24 lakh! To offset the price increase, Isuzu will introduce a new Hi-Lander model that will forego the four-wheel drive hardware in order to reduce the price.

Despite the significant price increase, the V-Cross is not expected to receive any major feature updates, but it will not be lacking in features either. The updated D-Max V-Cross will have Bi-LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, cruise control, steering-mounted controls, automatic air conditioning, shift-on-the-fly 4WD mode, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, as before. Up to six airbags, traction control, electronic stability control, hill start/descent assist, rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera ensure passenger safety.

The 2WD model will be lacking in creature comforts such as a powered driver's seat and cruise control, as well as safety and convenience features such as six airbags (only dual-airbags are available), traction control, ESC, and hill start/descent assist.
