Khalti collaborates with Social Security Fund (SSF)

It has been made possible for employees and employers of government as well as private offices to pay for Social Security Fund (SSF) by Khalti Digital Wallet, in collaboration with Social Security Fund.

It has introduced digitized SSF payments in Nepal for the first time.

The arrangement was implemented after an agreement between Jonaam Bhurtel, Assistant Manager of Khalti Digital Wallet and Kapilmani Gyawali, Executive Director of Social Security Fund.This service has made it easier for both employees and employers of private and government offices . They can deposit their own or their employees’ to the SSF using Khalti minimizing the hassles.The amount has to be paid by 15th of every month. In case the employees claim from SSF when they have not made the payment, the organization has to pay a fine of a certain amount.

Jonaam Bhurtel shared, “Along with technological advancement, we have enhanced our online payment system to service our customers better in Nepal.”

Jonaam added, “Now employees do not necessarily have to physically be available at the office or banks to deposit their funds. Especially amidst Covid-19, the service has eased people to make contactless payment. The organizations affiliated to the SSF can directly make payments from home using Khalti.”

Likewise, Executive Director of Social Security Fund, Kapilmani Gyawali shared, “We are very thankful to be able to provide this facility to all the employees living across the country. The service has helped to enhance the prestige of both Khalti Digital Wallet and Social Security Fund.” He also thanked the entire team and said that without the technical and management team’s hard work, it would not have been possible.

Khalti Digital Wallet has indeed revolutionized the SSF payment mechanism in the offices of Nepal. This collaboration will ease the work of many organizations not only during covid-19 but also after the situation becomes better.

"Nepal bank shakes hand with Khalti"

Khalti Digital Wallet has started cooperation with Nepal Bank Limited, the oldest bank in the country. In addition, customers of 'Khalti' wallet will now be able to load cash in the mobile wallet using Nepal Bank's mobile banking and internet banking services.

It has been said that the customers of Khalti Digital Wallet can add their account in Nepal Bank and pay for goods and services directly without loading cash in the pocket. A program was organized at the central office of Nepal Bank to sign the agreement for cooperation between the two organizations.

 

It was signed by Director Amit Agrawal and Chief Business Development Officer Sadit Ghimire on behalf of Khalti and Chief Executive Officer Krishna Bahadur Adhikari and Assistant Chief Executive Officer Laxman Poudel on behalf of Nepal Bank.

With the cooperation with Nepal Bank, the number of banks that can directly pay for the purchase of goods and services by connecting the wallet has reached four. Earlier, only customers of NIC Asia Bank, Laxmi Bank and Muktinath Development Bank were able to make direct payments by linking the wallet to a bank account.

 

Director of Khalti, Amit Agrawal, said that they are proud that the country's oldest bank has trusted the youngest digital wallet. He said, "It is a great honor for us to be able to collaborate with Nepal Bank”.

Agarwal said that the customer would not have to bother to load cash in the wallet as the payment can be made directly through the wallet after linking the bank account with the pocket. Pocket Digital Wallet has recently emerged as a popular payment gateway in Nepal.

 

There are services like mobile recharge, electricity and water bill payment, internet and DTH bill payment, movie ticketing, plane ticketing, events ticketing, hotel booking, payment through e-commerce, payment of daily newspaper subscription using pocket wallet. Currently, the number of pocket users has reached more than 1.3 million.
