Laptops Signs/Problems you Shouldn't Ignore

27th December 2021
"If you possess a laptop, you will encounter issues that you must learn to live with."

If you possess a laptop, you will encounter issues that you must learn to live with. On the other hand, other symptoms indicate that something considerably more serious is wrong with your gadget.

Moreover, it's common for your laptop to slow down as you fill up storage space and download new apps, but if it's barely working, it could be in serious need of repair.

Here is the list of some signs/symptoms your laptops shows which shouldn’t be ignored:

Shutting down unexpectedly

It is a serious problem if your laptop simply turns off in the middle of a task. The reason for it might be the battery. Always check to be sure your laptop is plugged in and charging, then turn it on after it’s had some time to recharge.

Also, another reason might also be a screen error. If you hear your computer running but there is nothing on your monitor, restart your laptop and see if it happens again. If you’ve discovered it isn’t any of these issues, you may have a hard drive failure.

In most cases, this is a symptom of a larger, more complicated problem.

The battery not charging

If your laptop doesn’t hold a charge, or doesn’t charge fully, or won’t charge at all, then all you need is a new battery.

Battery life for a laptop is around two to four years, although how you use and charge it will determine its useful life.

Moreover, one other reason the battery won’t charge is that your charging cord is not working.

If the indicator light doesn’t come on when you connect your charger to your laptop or it does but only when you hold the charger at a particular angle, you could also have a broken laptop charging port.

System settings are disabled

When malware takes control of your laptop, it will frequently seek to deactivate settings that might otherwise allow you to locate it or disrupt its operations.

If you discover that essential system settings are missing, you may have anything unwanted installed on your device.

Overheating

It's natural for your laptop to generate some heat when it's turned on, but it shouldn't be so hot that it burns you.

Using a laptop cooling pad can help, but if your fan is always running and the cooling pad isn't working, your laptop may have some underlying issues that need to be addressed.

Unusual noises

If your laptop's hard drive is producing strange noises, it might be an indication that it's failing. You can surely recognize them easily.

Furthermore, this might be a sign of a clogged or damaged fan, blocked vents, or internal buildup.

Ways to Prevent Your Laptop From Overheating

6th December 2021
"Overheating in laptops is pretty common, and many laptop owners experience it from time to time."

Overheating in laptops is pretty common, and many laptop owners experience it from time to time.

However, the most common type of overheating is caused by a lack of adequate airflow within the machine. Here is the list of some tips to prevent your laptop from overheating:

Check and clean the fans

Whenever you feel your laptop getting hot, place your hand just next to the fan vents. If you feel very little or no air, then dust might have accumulated on the fan or it has broken down.

You can open up the machine and blow out the dust with some relatively compressed air.

Fan

If the fan has broken down, look for a new replacement. Note that if you are not comfortable opening up the laptop, get a professional to do it

Use a lap desk

Another method to provide enough ventilation is the use of a lap desk. The small rubber feet on the bottom provide standard elevation to enhance airflow underneath your laptop. However, some people place laptops on their laps when using them.

Lap desk

This restricts airflow under the laptop and leads to overheating.

A lap desk helps in maintaining constant airflow, keeping your laptop cool.

Keep your laptop out of the heat

Lastly, overheating of your laptop may occur due to extreme exposure to direct hot sunlight, especially during summer. High temperatures may cause a computer to overheat due to an expansion of the hard drive and battery damage.

shade

Therefore, you should keep your laptop in the shade whenever temperatures are high.
