Xiaomi Nepal COVID-19
"How is Xiaomi Nepal doing this lockdown and post COVID?"
COVID-19 and it’s consequence of Lockdown has been a curse to many of the businesses. Our Team took interviews with various people belonging to all small, medium and large businesses. Some people say that their business has been adversely affected, while some state that it is in loss, however they would revive from it soon.
Interview with Sourabh Kothari, Country General Manager for Xiaomi Nepal.
1. What is the situation of mobile sectors in Nepal after the ease of lockdown?
After the ease in lockdown, the whole industry is facing a boom in demand, especially in the entry and mid level range (Less than 30000 NPR). Due to new demand from education sector (Online classes of schools and colleges), and with lot of customers unable to change their damaged phones during lockdown, the demand after lockdown has picked up rapidly.
2. How are you planning to run your outlets/showroom after the lockdown is over and what are the safety protocols that you will be taking?
All our outlets and service centres are following all safety procedures laid down by the govt. In our exclusive service centres, we are doing daily deep cleaning and sanitizing, use of hazmat suits and PPE, distancing measures in the seating area etc are being rigorously followed.
3. Are there any latest offers or schemes in the purchase of mobiles after the ease in the lockdown?
Xiaomi has always tried to bring all its products at the most honest pricing as possible. However, due to flights suspension and extreme supply chain issues, currently the most important part is how to fulfil the demand of the market. Still, Xiaomi was the first brand to have landed goods within the lockdown, and the first one to launch new products too. We launched three new products within June (Mi 10, Mi Note 10 Lite, Redmi Note 9 pro) which has received amazing response in the markets.
