Takumi Yoneyama, Design Manager, Nissan Motor Corporation, said, “The Nissan Magnite Concept embodies Nissan’s spirit in every way. Our design approach was based on the art of sculpting and not just drawing lines on paper. We sculpted a solid and dynamic feel by carving shape from a big, overhanging body. We followed the core of Japanese sense and aesthetic by extracting pure dynamism and shedding the unnecessary. We are proud to introduce our newest creation and we hope that our customers in India will love it.”

Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “The Nissan Magnite Concept is designed in Japan while keeping in mind the requirements and aspirations of the Indian customers. The front section and the grill frame feature a vertical motion to enhance rigidness. In contrast, very sleek and sharp LED Head lamps and L-shape Daytime running light create a strong impression. This dynamic combination gives the car a confident and bold look; special tinted red color adds further depth and makes it look solid and vibrant.

Overall, due to its bold design and color, the Nissan Magnite Concept will be an eye-catcher and is certain to stand out in the crowd of vehicles on Indian roads. The Nissan Magnite Concept is an evolutionary leap in Nissan’s SUV history and is designed for the Indian market. The Nissan Magnite launch in India is expected to take place in early 2021

The automaker is all set to enter the compact SUV segment with Nissan Magnite, which will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Toyota Urban Cruiser and Kia Sonet.

Nissan gives LEAF drivers a UEFA Champions League Final to remember

20th August 2020
"100 lucky fans to attend socially distanced watch party at drive-in theater."

Nissan is bringing electrified excitement to the UEFA Champions League Final by giving a lucky group of Nissan LEAF drivers a socially distanced game-day experience.

With fans unable to attend this year’s game in person, Nissan is setting up a drive-in theatre for 50 LEAF owners, whose cars will be parked in team formation facing a giant screen, bringing them closer to the action while still maintaining social distancing. The watch party will take place at a secret location communicated only to the selected fans, each of whom can bring a guest.

Among those attending will be the owner of the 5,000th LEAF sold in Portugal and UEFA Champions League legend Nuno Gomes, who will join an exclusive meet-and-greet. With all necessary hygiene measures in place, the fans will also have access to the UEFA Champions League trophy for an exclusive photo opportunity, before it heads to the stadium.

Nissan is in its sixth season as the official automotive sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, the world’s largest annual sporting event.

For six seasons now, we have been electrifying the UEFA Champions League Final,” said Gareth Dunsmore, vice president for marketing communications, connected car services and customer experience at Nissan Europe. “This year, we felt even more motivated to add to the excitement of the event'.

“Nothing can recreate the excitement of being in the stadium, but we hope we can give our LEAF owners the next best thing.

Hyundai Kona compact SUV Facelift Teased

26th August 2020
"Hyundai launched Kona in Nepal before it did so in Australia and the US."

The Hyundai Kona compact SUV is part of the brand’s global model lineup, positioned above the Venue and offered in select parts of the world like Europe and North America.  Hyundai has now teased the facelifted version of the Kona along with its new sportier N-Line variant. The current model is the first-gen Kona and was revealed in 2017.

Hyundai-Kona-front-look

The new Kona’s front end design is inspired by sharks with sharp design lines. It has a split-headlamp design with bumper-mounted LED headlamps that look like a shark’s gills. The LED daytime running lights are still a sleek design along the bonnet line but look more sculpted than before.

Hyundai has also teased the new N-Line variant of the Kona which has a sportier front end. It features a wider grille and low-set air intake with fin-like design elements on each end. The facelifted Kona Electric is expected to get similar styling updates as the standard SUV but with a different grille that would be better suited for an EV.

Hyundai launched Kona in Nepal before it did so in Australia and the US. The Korean car-maker listed Nepal as a top priority market in the Asia- Pacific because of tax breaks for electric vehicles till FY 2019/20 (2076/77).

Volkswagen ID.4 first all-electric SUV Crossover Teased

27th August 2020
"The outline of the Volkswagen ID.4 is that of a typical crossover."

The German carmaker is gearing up to put an end to all the anticipations soon. Volkswagen has released a teaser image of the ID.4 giving us a good idea of its stylish and urban design language.

Volkswagen-ID-4

With the ID.4, Volkswagen is expanding its offering by an all-electric vehicle in the largest segment worldwide – the compact SUV class. The car will in future be built and sold in Europe, China and later also in the US. Klaus Zyciora knows the character of the ID.4 like no-one else – the Head of Design for the Volkswagen Group designed the car together with his team.

Volkswagen-ID-4-Crossover-Teased

The outline of the ID.4 is of a typical crossover but the face looks very attractive as per the teaser images. Of course, then, the grille is missing and you get a very sleek chunk instead which is flanked by stretched out LED projector headlamps. That said, it will remind us of the Kia Seltos as well with a really slim DRL strip running on that sleek portion.

Volkswagen-ID-4-first-all-electric-SUV

In fact, it's the DRLs that enhance its appeal with the way they fringe around the headlight assemblies and we hope the production model stays true to this design language. It makes a solid impression with sharp character lines on the bumper and hood which continues on the profile as well. Moreover, the sloping roofline, curvy beltline and flared wheel arches give it a sporty stance, in-turn adding to its urban crossover appeal.

Volkswagen-look

The Volkswagen ID.4 will be an all-electric all-wheel-drive (AWD) crossover and will be slightly longer than the Volkswagen Tiguan in terms of dimension. It'll be underpinned by Volkswagen's MEB modular platform for all-electric vehicles which will also underpin the upcoming Skoda Enyaq IV, it's an in-house rival. Powering the Volkswagen ID.4 will be two electric motors at both axles with a combined output of approximately 198 bhp and it will have a range of 500 km on a single charge according to WLTP cycle.
