Globally a lot of big companies follow subscription/lease based car ownership facilities. As history has it, the sharing economy is a sustainable model which breaks the barriers of difference between different tiers of affordability in respect to consumers purchasing power.

Toyota is also offering a short-term usage plan of 24 to 48 months
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced its leasing and subscription programme in Delhi/NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai in the first phase.
Toyota is offering select models including the Glanza and Innova Crysta under this offer
The carmaker has stated that it will expand to ten more cities within a year from launch.
To put this into action, Toyota has tied up with Kinto under Toyota financial services, ALD Automotive India and SMAS Auto Leasing India.
Customers have the option of choosing a tenure ranging from three to five years on a fixed monthly fee on lease. This fee will include vehicle maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance.
The models available for subscription and leasing include the Glanza, Yaris, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and the upcoming Urban Cruiser.
Commenting on the launch, Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, Sales and Service, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “The automotive industry globally is experiencing a ‘once-in-a-century’ profound transformation and it is imperative that we as automobile manufacturers, transform ourselves from a traditional car company to a mobility company. The role of Toyota’s Mobility Service is aimed at providing one such solution catering to emerging mobility needs of the customers. Both leasing and subscription are expected to grow significantly in the coming years. In time, we want to provide all possible models of mobility service by working closely with our corporate, fleet customers and subscribers to understand their needs and offer customized and futuristic solutions such as Mobility-as-a-Service and connected cars."
MG tie-up with Zoomcar's Monthly Vehicle Subscription Plan
The MG range of cars has been available on a subscription basis since the launch of the Hector SUV. Its model range has since increased by two, with more on the way.
The carmaker’s ongoing subscription service in partnership with Myles was announced nearly six months before they even launched the Hector.
These models will be available on a subscription basis for a duration of 12, 24 or 36 months.
MG’s current lineup consists of the Hector, Hector Plus and ZS EV.
MG hopes to reach more customers who can try the MG ownership experience via the subscription model.
The carmaker has now partnered with Zoomcar to leverage the brand’s end-to-end technology solution.
Zoomcar and MG will provide 24x7 support to subscribers for bookings and listings.
Commenting on the partnership, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, said, “It is a delight to join hands with Zoomcar for providing customers with an attractive monthly vehicle ownership proposition. It gives them a deep dive into the world of MG. They will now be able to experience the cutting-edge tech features of our vehicles before they finally purchase them. The subscription model will further make MG vehicles more accessible to all auto enthusiasts in India. We are confident that our partnership with Zoomcar will generate considerable thrust in the market.”
