Tata Motors Rolls Out 1000th Nexon EV In India

18th August 2020
"The all-electric SUV from Tata managed to achieve this milestone in a bit over six months."

Tata launched the electric version of its popular offering, the Nexon sub-4m SUV on January 28 this year. The carmaker rolled out the 1,000th unit of the Nexon EV from its Pune facility on August 18. That’s impressive considering we’ve experienced a global pandemic and a nationwide lockdown during the same period.

The carmaker achieved this milestone in a little over six months since the Nexon EV’s launch. It recently introduced subscription plans for the Nexon EV to expand the ownership options for its affordable EV.

The Nexon EV is the most affordable electric SUV to offer a range of over 300km.

Its electric powertrain develops 129PS of power and 245Nm of torque.

Toyota MG Introduces Leasing and Subscription Service In India

18th August 2020
"If you’d like to be able to switch cars depending on your needs, and even your moods, then you might want to subscribe to your next car."

Globally a lot of big companies follow subscription/lease based car ownership facilities. As history has it, the sharing economy is a sustainable model which breaks the barriers of difference between different tiers of affordability in respect to consumers purchasing power.

Totoya Kirloskar Motor subscription/lease offers

Toyota is also offering a short-term usage plan of 24 to 48 months

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced its leasing and subscription programme in Delhi/NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai in the first phase.

Toyota is offering select models including the Glanza and Innova Crysta under this offer

The carmaker has stated that it will expand to ten more cities within a year from launch.

To put this into action, Toyota has tied up with Kinto under Toyota financial services, ALD Automotive India and SMAS Auto Leasing India.

Customers have the option of choosing a tenure ranging from three to five years on a fixed monthly fee on lease. This fee will include vehicle maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance

The models available for subscription and leasing include the Glanza, Yaris, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and the upcoming Urban Cruiser.

Commenting on the launch, Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, Sales and Service, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “The automotive industry globally is experiencing a ‘once-in-a-century’ profound transformation and it is imperative that we as automobile manufacturers, transform ourselves from a traditional car company to a mobility company. Be it product or services, as a customer-centric company, it has always been our endeavour to introduce products and services in line with the evolving customer needs. The role of Toyota’s Mobility Service is aimed at providing one such solution catering to emerging mobility needs of the customers. Both leasing and subscription are expected to grow significantly in the coming years. In time, we want to provide all possible models of mobility service by working closely with our corporate, fleet customers and subscribers to understand their needs and offer customized and futuristic solutions such as Mobility-as-a-Service and connected cars."

MG tie-up with Zoomcar's Monthly Vehicle Subscription Plan

The MG range of cars has been available on a subscription basis since the launch of the Hector SUV. Its model range has since increased by two, with more on the way.

The carmaker’s ongoing subscription service in partnership with Myles was announced nearly six months before they even launched the Hector.

These models will be available on a subscription basis for a duration of 12, 24 or 36 months.

MG’s current lineup consists of the Hector, Hector Plus and ZS EV.

MG hopes to reach more customers who can try the MG ownership experience via the subscription model.

The carmaker has now partnered with Zoomcar to leverage the brand’s end-to-end technology solution.

Zoomcar and MG will provide 24x7 support to subscribers for bookings and listings.

Commenting on the partnership, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, said, “It is a delight to join hands with Zoomcar for providing customers with an attractive monthly vehicle ownership proposition. It gives them a deep dive into the world of MG. They will now be able to experience the cutting-edge tech features of our vehicles before they finally purchase them. The subscription model will further make MG vehicles more accessible to all auto enthusiasts in India. We are confident that our partnership with Zoomcar will generate considerable thrust in the market.
