BMW Motorrad to debut TVS Apache RR 310 in India

10th June 2022
"BMW Motorrad is finally set to launch a completely faired motorbike based on the TVS Apache RR 310 to the market."

BMW Motorrad is finally set to launch a completely faired motorbike based on the TVS Apache RR 310 to the market.

BMW India has revealed that a new motorcycle will be released on July 15, 2022. BMW has also released a teaser photograph of the forthcoming motorcycle's tail light. The tail light is identical to the one featured on the Apache 310 RR.

Now, the teaser reveals the motorcycle’s LED tail lamp which is the same as the one on the Apache RR 310. Moreover, we expect BMW’s version to just be a rebranded iteration of the Apache.

Hence, the same aggressive styling and bodywork would continue, but, with BMW badging and a new name. The bike will also get new paint schemes to differentiate it from the TVS Apache as much as possible.

Just like the current lot of 310 ranges, the upcoming BMW 310 RR will also be manufactured by TVS at their plant in Hosur. It is likely to be heavily inspired by the Apache 310.

Headlight and tail light units are likely to be similar, so as to save costs. Fairing unit might be slightly different in design, inspired by BMW design language.

Nonetheless, it will come powered by the same 312cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that is good for 34bhp and 27.3Nm. This motor comes with a slipper and assists clutch and six-speed gearboxes.

Another difference will be the color option. As can be seen in the teaser, the BMW RR310 is wearing the traditional BMW colors of White and Blue. Features on offer will also be the same and include a 5-inch color display with Bluetooth connectivity, dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, and ride by wire, etc.

2021 BMW S 1000 R launched in India at 17.9 lakh

21st June 2021
"The 999cc in-line four in the 2021 S 1000 R is based on the S 1000 RR, but it's been detuned to generate 167.2PS at 11,000rpm and 114Nm at 9,250rpm"

The all-new BMW S 1000 R for 2021 has just been unveiled in India in three trim levels: ordinary, Pro, and Pro M Sport, all priced at Rs 17.9 lakh, Rs 19.75 lakh, and Rs 22.50 lakh, respectively (all prices, ex-showroom). From today, all BMW Motorrad India dealerships will be able to book the all-new BMW S 1000 R as a completely built-up unit (CBU).

The new and narrower headlight unit - which is quite similar to the F 900 R and replaces the old asymmetrical unit - new indicators, new tank shape, and looks a lot more aggressive and purposeful now with all the sharp cut panels gravitating toward the front axel - are all new styling cues for this naked derivation of the S 1000 RR.

While the first generation S1000R's tail section was shared with the RR, the second generation model is slightly different and slimmer than the supersport model on which it is based.

The 999cc in-line four in the 2021 S 1000 R is based on the S 1000 RR, but it's been detuned to generate 167.2PS at 11,000rpm and 114Nm at 9,250rpm.
